Surely they could have used a direct connection to Iraq.

Hatfill was picked by the Mossad to be the fallguy when he was living in South Africa. Hatfill’s photo appeared in a paper with a group of neo- Nazi Afrikaner Resistance Movement members. The Mossad picked up on this a chose Hatfill as their pasty for the anthrax attacks. In 1998 they started a series of anthrax hoaxes when Hatfill was nearby. The last anthrax hoax the Mossad sent was an anthrax hoax letter mailed from London after the anthrax attacks to Senator Daschle. Hatfill was training in England to be part of a weapons inspector team for Iraq.

A more relevant question to ask is how did a small ragtag terrorist group called the Jewish Defense Organization have so much on Hatfill and his time in South Africa. The answer is the Mossad relayed the information to them and they in turn gave it to the media.

I would like to know what sort of relationship Hatfill may have had with Ivens. Ivens is a good suspect because he was nuts, Hatfill because of his alleged ties with South Africa and their Nazis. It would be a line of investigation worth pursuing. That there is no connection between al Qaeda, thus with 9/11, is obvious. The Mossad connection is laughable, for the reasons I cited. They would know some b etter way to tie it to al Qaeda.

Oh, wait. The crime was actually so hard to trace that it took years to figure out who probably did it, people still aren't sure, and no evidence ever pointed to Iraq.

I would have thought it was the US Executive Branch taking advantage of the 9/11 attacks to scare Congress, and the media into submission.

Leahy and Daschle were opposing the Patriot Act, after those letters, they no longer opposed it. Several people in the media got the letters; the media pretty much toed the party line after that.

As for the people in the US Postal Service -- To cover up who the real targets were. See, if just Leahy, Daschle and some people in the media got the letters, it would be quite obvious what the intention was. So a bunch of other people get the letters and it sounds like some madman is just randomly sending anthrax letters through the mail.

At least that was my thought. Let's hope I don't get a heart-attack, or disappear for saying that...
