So who of you actually is an angry Atheist - in contrast to all the calm ones posting in here? :D
 
I only get angry when I have a discussion about it with a foaming mouth fundamentalist. Which does happen more often than you'd think!
 
Couldn't really care less about religion though I quite enjoy discussing the ideas because I like to know what other people think

Well, in my case...

I am an atheist and sometimes get angry with:
The government
God botherers who use the same argument over and over, even when its flaws have been pointed out to them
Amateur 'scientists' who 'know' better than professionals who have made it their life's work (and use the same debating technique as the aforementioned GBs)
The intransigence of inanimate objects
and other stuff you don't need to know about. :cool:

Maybe you're new to the conversation about Atheism and Theism, but usually Atheists learn to see the religious ignorance surrounding them in a humorous light, while Theists just stay annoyed about the Atheists "ignorance" about the "holy" crap they believe in.

Nope been following it for a while now. And it's not religious ignorance that annoys me, it's deliberate impenetrable ignorance; as I hoped would be pointed up by what I actually wrote.
 
I am not angry as hell, nor rather amused

I would vote for: Hmf, I am an Atheist and rather sad about religion
 
I'm not so much amused by it as puzzled - I was brought up in the Roman Catholic tradition, and I'm curious to know why it just didn't 'take' with some of us, whereas others are church-going believers.
 
I am angry that there isn't a poll option to match my position.
 
[x] I am an atheist and I even have a somewhat positive opinion about relgion (I can only hope that it is not too ...)

Lacking such an option I have to go with #3.
 
Couldn't give a monkey's about religion. religious privilege on the other hand...
 
[x] I am an atheist, and I am angry about some religions/religious people/practices/behaviors etc., I am amused by some, I have a positive attitude about some, and I "meh, don't care" about some.
 
I'm an aroused atheist. I find religion naughty.

You're a naughty religion, aren't you? You want to spank me? You want me to punish for eternity? Yeah, I bet you do. You naughty religion. Make unsupported assertions about the existence and nature of god. Yeah. just like that. Make a first cause argument. ohh. you are naughty. Now tell me how cultural practices and traditions are, in fact, divinely inspired and not a merely a collection of behaviors evolved to aide group cohesion and sense of belonging. Yes! Punish me, I've been a bad boy.

I'm agree with Fiona here, but I'd like to add that there are only two things that I get angry about religion:

1) When there are people who think that their morals should become law. (i.e. the mixing of church and state).

and 2) When they take science and says it's not right because their religion says it's wrong. (e.g. creationism vs evolutionism).
