I've searched through other youtube videos and only found one debunking the stupidity of the 2.3 trillion "missing money." They didn't go over the speech in detail like I did though.

It's funny how I didn't even have to go to 9/11 myths (which incidentally has the wrong link to the speech,) but instead just type in one extra word on google and was able to find it. This shows how horrible truthers are at doing actual research. And this is coming from someone who doesn't usually have very good luck with google too!

I essentially type in google "Rumsfeld 2.3 trillion" and take note on what comes up in google. I add in "speech" at the end and find on the list of webpages google comes up the speech Rumsfeld made on 9/10 on the Department of Defense website.

I don't go over the entire speech, but a few key points such as reading the entire paragraph the sentence "we cannot track 2.3 trillion in transactions" so as to show the context of it as well as other areas that place the comment that truthers go bat crazy over in full context.

The idea being that placing the statement in context instead of a stand alone statement completely debunks any conspiracy theory that states the money is missing or stolen.

$2.3 trillion would be about half of all Pentagon spending between 1990-2000. Hell, I bet if you take out military payroll and benefits $2.3 trillion would be close to 100 percent of what was left.

If they gave it a little thought and did a little math, they'd figure out that in order to skim that much money and still pay the soldiers, the Pentagon would have had to buy nothing, no airplanes, no missiles, no $600 hammers, no $7,000 toilet seats, no gas for the motor pool, no nothing, for ten solid years.

I forget which one, but I recall one of our resident truthers saying that placing the cherry-picked quote back into the whole speech was taking it out of context.
