This one is - the war between Russia and Ukraine will end. Neither side will gain everything they want. But on both sides, their economies will be in ruins.

So how did you do? I did badly.

The war in Ukraine will end with Russian forces withdrawing. Russia will counterattack in January, but this will not be successful.

That's a big nope.

There will be a mass shooting in Canada in the first half of the year, possibly in or near Toronto.

That too is a nope, unless someone remembers an incident that I've forgotten.

There will be a scandal in the world of international cricket.

Maybe someone who actually follows cricket could clear this one up?

A volcanic eruption somewhere unexpected, possibly Samoa.

Nope. Iceland, which was completely predictable.

A new discovery will rock the world of vertebrate palaeontology and turn certain assumptions on their heads.

Don't remember anything happening here. Anyone else got any ideas?

This forum will continue to slowly die. It will have fewer active members and fewer posts. No major software upgrade.

I did get one hit. All my other predictions were wrong.

Meanwhile, I'll confine mine to the Republican US House of Representatives:
-- Many, many, MANY hours will be spent investigating Hunter Biden, to no result whatsoever.
-- EmptyG will get her committee assignments back, and act like a fool in the meetings.
-- A serious effort will be made to impeach Joe Biden, for fathering Hunter.
-- They'll shut down the government at least once.

Largely correct. No shutdown, but very close.

I predict I will finally retire the ancient W7 laptop that's been living on borrowed time for a couple of years.
