for keeping America safe...

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/books/10/29/books.carlin.reut/index.html

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, is refusing to sell comedian George Carlin's best-selling new book, "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops," in its stores because its cover makes fun of the "Last Supper," a spokesman for Carlin said Thursday.

But Wal-Mart spokeswoman Karen Burk said the book was not being stocked in Wal-Mart stores because the company felt it "would not appeal to a majority of our customers." She added Wal-Mart was selling the book online.

appeal to majority of customers? name one book (aside from that damn Bible) that appeals to the majority (over 50%) of Wal-Mart's customers

and for reasons like this, I refuse to spend one dime there (not that they need it)

They arent selling John Stewerts daily Sow History of The US texbook either.

Theres this page were the supreme court is naked and you have to dress them with robe paper cut outs. I flipped thru it, it was kinda funny.

You really shouldn't be complaining about our future employer. I'll bet in 5 years time the country will be re-named to the "United States of Walmart".

Now, take your zeal for all viewpoints being represented to

- government schools, where non-PC books are suppressed

- college campuses, where conservative student newspapers are collected and dumped, non-PC speakers are hounded off campuses in organized campaigns, and students who violate PC speech codes get in big trouble

- the liberal media establishment, where conservative views have long been mostly given short shrift

- hollywood, where 99% of the product reinforces the liberal/left worldview

- the publishing industry, where the small house Regnery is usually the only place where conservative books can be published

- bookstores, where conservative books are "lost", stuck in the back top shelf, "out of stock", etc

Ah, remember the good old days when something offended you, you just didn't buy it. But, we must protect Wal Mart shoppers from catching a glimpse of the cover of Carlin's book lest their souls be shocked beyond repair.

Ah yes, to return to the days of individual responsibility and original tasting Coke (with surgar instead of corn syrup). Mmmmm ... nothing like it anymore.
