I'm guessing he means Schwimmbad...

Oh man, right, guess I was suffering from some mental block.
Nonetheless, what point JK was trying to make by stating tha US soldiers don't piss in our swimming pools keeps me puzzled...

I used to hang out in Germany a lot. I liked Germany. Had many good times in Germany, especially the Monsters of Rock concert in '86. What a screamer that was. Ozzy Osborne, The Scorpions, Bon Jovi, etc etc. That was the best concert I have ever been to, ever, and I have been to a lot of them.

Anyway, one time I was with my troops and we were running through this small village outside of Ettligen and this old lady came running outside yelling at us in German. So I went to see what she wanted and she was complaining that we were being noisy on our run and it was waking her up every morning.

I asked her what noise she would rather hear--us running and sounding off with some cool cadence or Russian communist tanks rolling down her street. Needless to say after that I won her over with that paradox and she never bothered us again and I made it a point to be as noisy as possible when running by her house every day after that.

Traffic congestion is a small price to pay to be free.
