Not to mention the slut-shaming is irrelevant because the law in question doesn't distinguish pregnancies resulting from rape.
Can a woman even get pregnant from legitimate rape?

Funny that only one political party seems to have their hands tied when it comes to actually delivering on promises.

What do you suggest they do exactly? And by that, I mean an actual action, not some vague "they need to do something".
I'm sure Bernie would already have hot and cold running healthcare to every person in America by this point in his administration in the alternative universe where he won.
The rape exception always seemed a bit incoherent to me.
If the fetus is a life that has inalienable rights, what difference does it make how it came to be?
I can see why, as a political tactic, rape and incest and other exemptions have been carved out, but they don't actually make much philosophical sense.
Hopefully this helps drive backlash for this truly reprehensible garbage.
My sister, a nurse, delivered many babies (She was head of the OB/GYN clinic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). But the worst birth she ever saw was an ELEVEN year old giving birth in the state of Montana. This TX sorry excuse for a law would prevent someone like her from having an abortion so the poor CHILD would be forced to have a child. Disgusting.
You couldn't pay me to live in Texas.

Of course, not that this law would actually negatively impact any of the lawmakers signing it. The second their unmarried daughter or mistress has a whoopsie they're on the first flight to California to have it quietly taken care of.
This is only going to impact Texans too poor to spend the time and money to get out of this backwards state to get proper medical care.

TX Gov. Greg Abbott when it comes to mask mandates:
"Texans, not government, should decide their best health practices."
TX Gov. Greg Abbott when it comes to a woman's own health choice about pregnancy:
"The Legislature "worked together on a bipartisan basis to pass a bill that I'm about to sign that ensures that the life of every unborn child who has a heartbeat will be saved from the ravages of abortion.”
Late to the party with that one. Commentors on TV have been pointing that hypocrisy out all morning.
