Telepathy

The funniest thing about your post is that you obviously copied and pasted a name of a smart-sounding book. That's why the three authors are listed by their full names with no commas or anything else between them.

Fake news. Sad.

Which, of course, shows he does have the time to cut and past links to the YouTube videos he finds so compelling.

As a lurker in this thread I was almost excited that it looked like someone might actually go through with a test. While I'm not completely surprised at how things concluded, it is disappointing.

This was my thought exactly. But in retrospect, it shouldn't surprise me that yet another person backs out of trying to prove what doesn't exist.

To his credit, KotA hasn't continued to insist he has some special power. He backed out of the test and has stayed quiet on the subject.

I 'believe in' telepathy, I just have no desire to confirm that I or anyone has such ability for certain.

Somethings are best left unknown.

Recent events and displays of well researched data has indicated to me, that 'telepathy' or the ability to extend one's consciousness beyond one's cranium is a real measurable phenomena, that has its basis in natural selection...

Ever feel like someone or something is watching you? Prey animals who can sense being watched, OFTEN look in direction of their stalker. If you look at the back of someone's head, more often than not they will turn and look right at you. Animals and humans who could identify the direction of an incoming predator were and are more likely to escape.

Fish and birds 'might' be using a single conscious rather than local physical inputs to alter direction.

When we see...light bounces off an object, is received by our retinas, flip-turned-right side up, and a picture is formed. But is that picture in our heads, or is it projected outward, outside of us, and by simply observing it, can we alter or change it, without touching it...?

After a few youtube searches I found some rather astounding test results.

Anyone here want to run a test, employing skeptics as the subjects??

What changed your mind? You were all for it until things started getting serious.

Okay, when I get time I'll post some peer reviewed research...Right now I am reading-The Decline of the Death Penalty and the Discovery of Innocence
by Frank R. Baumgartner Suzanna De Boef Amber E. Boydstun. AND I have to re-write a prospectus, by tomorrow at 6. And there's a naked woman like 8 feet away who wants my body!

When I tell you do your own research, I mean I don't have the time myself!

Check out a study done on how criminals act when camera monitors are being watched vs. just recorded!

And yet you have time for this:

Not enough time to focus...

I propose 5 minutes on each card, ten minute break, another card. We'll can do 5 cards per day? Maybe just three, from the 52 card shuffled deck, that should be random enough.

Try to 'send' *giggle* the cards identification to a male in Denton Texas.

I'm central time, so I'll check in here, at this thread before 8. Shall we do this via a separate thread?

What changed your mind. KotA?

One day in about 1990, when I was at University, Kim Basinger nearly bumped into me. I believe if I had hit on her, we would have had a night of heavenly sex. I luckily can maintain that belief even today, because I didn't test it.

So yeah, I get your point.

By the way, did you know that I am the most popular user at ISF? I am not keen on testing that belief, but it's true, believe me!

*The potential consequences of positive results...

Fame, fortune and adulation as the one person who finally proved paranormal powers really exist? Yeah, that would suck. Would it help if we all reassured you by saying there's pretty well zero probability of you suffering the potential consequences of positive results?

Dave

That coin has another side.

FWIW, I'm fine with KotA saying he believes telepathy might exist. I would be harsher if he continued to insist that he personally might be telepathic.

Schrodinger's cat...

The two people participating in the thread who believe telepathy exists are the two who absolutely refuse to engage in a fair test to show telepathy exists? Interesting in a non-surprising way.
