Ted Haggard rises from the dead

If he pulls this off, I'm going into the religion business.

It is simply too great an opportunity, being able to bilk people that are so utterly gullible.

Let's just say that it could only happen in America. I mean, a religious leader and fierce anti-homosexual gets found out repeatedly using the services of a male prostitute and drugging himself with crystal meth and, after a short rest, marches righ back in where he left off. Only in America.

Well, he is not quite marching back to where he left off. He was the leader of the National Association of Evangelicals and the founder of a large church in Colorado. He is now being considered for a pilot for a reality show. The bar for getting a reality show on a basic cable station is so low that I doubt a cockroach could limbo under it.

Except that he is now founding another church just down the street from the large one he started originally! He has people attending it. Unbelievable. So it's pretty small at present but it appears to have outgrown the meetings at his home recently. Will he be able to regrow this new one into something the size of New Life? That's the thing. That's how New Life started, too - small meetings in his home. At this point I almost wouldn't be surprised if he does.

You may be right. There are a lot of Christian who think that "wicked sins" give a preacher street cred.
