Tate Brothers Charged with Rape in the UK

Heh. Freshly entered into the docket yesterday on the 3rd of September we have Andrew's (TATE_0077) newest commissary request, which has been approved by the prison leadership, AND the receipt for it. It requests: one radio, 20x noodles, 20x beef jerky, 10x Twix, 10x Snickers, 10x cookies, 10x candy, 10x pretzels, 5x coffee, 5x popcorn, 4x Doritos, 2x daily multivitamins, and 2x vitamin C tablets, and 10x cough drops, unless I missed something. (I still don't see nail clippers on it;))

I ASSUME it must be for a month, because I can't see even a mukbang streamer eating all that in a day. (Well, other than maybe that famous tiny Japanese woman.)

Well, I guess they'll need those vitamin tablets if they're gonna stuff themselves with Twix and Snickers and such. They'd probably die of scurvy long before extradition otherwise.

But yeah, that's how bad he's living in that federal jail in Miami. Thank goodness he's such a Real Tough Man, or he wouldn't be able to survive ;)

BTW, in case it wasn't clear, that's just for Andrew. I've seen Tristan's receipt and it generally has slightly less of most of the stuff, but still the 10x Twix and 10x Snickers. And no radio. (And conspicuously also no nail clippers:P)

BUCHAREST, Sept 4 (Reuters) -

Romanian prosecutors officially indicted social ‌media influencer Andrew Tate on Friday for trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor and witness tampering and his brother Tristan for complicity, years after ‌they first began investigating them.

The witness tampering and sex with minors were described as "ongoing" offences.

Yeah, the funny thing is: their own lawyer caused that. The argument to the court and in public was that oh noes, if they're in jail, and Romania wants to resume the case, they'd be tried in absentia. (Which, nope, they make an explicit exemption for people who can't appear because they're in detention. Also explicitly allows appearing by video conference if they can't show up in person.) So predictably what followed was a formal request to Romania to say what the charges over there are. Which prompted Romania to indict them again, and dutifully send the updated list of charges to the DOJ in the USA.

Kinda ironic that US interference made Romania put the trial on hold, but now it was the same US causing Romania to unpause it. And Trump probably wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft dick again.

So now even if they were to get a free pass from the UK (not that that's ever gonna happen,) then the extradition to Romania would immediately start instead.

I tell you, man, with friends like their lawyer, who needs enemas? :P

Most of this is probably for barter purposes. Most prisoners are unable to pay for commissary so having stuff like that can buy a lot of favors or goodwill if needed.

In British jails it used to be tobacco and cigarettes were the barter of choice, now that tobacco is banned it's liquid capsules for the permitted vape pen.

Well, anyway, the point is that they're not denied commissary, like they previously claimed.

Plus, pre-trial they're separated from the rest of the prisoners. It's not "the hole" level, since it's not punishment, but they're still separated. So I'm not entirely sure how many other inmates ARE there that they could buy favours off.

My own uninformed ass would guess that it's just that there is not a whole lot else to do in prison (hence the radio request too,) so it might just be comfort eating. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the two or three years, if they appeal it all the way, "Top G" ends up looking South Park shaped and needing the government to buy him 2 seats on the plane to the UK :P

Yeah, I also notice that there's not a whole lot of tradeable stuff there. Plus, if nothing else, cash is the easiest bribe, and the easiest to conceal, since anyone can donate to an inmate's commissary fund.

But you can't have actual cash in jail.
UK 'Canteen' used to be done with a weekly sheet that was filled in and now by an interactive touch screen ordering system. No actual money changes hands. Your Canteen is delivered to your cell in a sealed clear plastic bag so you can check it's right before opening it.

Yes, but if Andrew and Tristan can order Twix on commissary, then so can any other prisoner. And as I was saying, in the US (where they are now) anyone can donate to any inmate's commissary, and just let them order WTH they want themselves. It's not actually cash, but it lets them buy anything you could buy for them from commissary, so, eh, just let them buy their own vape pen or whatever.

And it's trivial to have plausible deniability for that. Just have someone outside or even their lawyer "donate", and you can say they just liked that guy. Or even on recorded prison phones, you can just say something like, "hey, can you help John Doe a bit. He's such a nice and supporting guy."

PLUS, I'm looking at Tristan's recipe, and it's like 94 dollars. From what I hear, that's not gonna be what you're extorted for if you claim to be a billionaire.

And now the judge wrote in very clear terms that their argument of needing to be free to appear in court in Romania "collapses under their own evidence."

This happened after a clarification was requested from their Romanian lawyer in the Romanian case, who actually clarified just what I was saying: nope, they can appear via video conference, and that trial in absentia happens in Romania only when they're absent without justification. And being behind bars in another country is more than sufficient justification. Also that at the moment there is no need for them to be in court in Romania, since the case didn't even get to pretrial yet.

And the Federal Bureau of Prisons (which is in whose jail they're sitting) also submitted in writing that, yeah, no problem, they're providing video conferences via WebEx or ZoomGov with either the court or their Romanian lawyer, when and if needed.

So while the judge hasn't yet ruled on whether to release them on bond, she just nuked the argument that there's a necessity for it from orbit.

Also, I seriously don't understand their logic. It's not JUST that "we've always lied before, so you can trust us now," which was already said before in this thread. But now they just lied to the judge too, right before the bail ruling. Seems like a baad idea to me.

My only explanation is that their lawyer knows they have no legal case against extradition and being kept in prison. So they are hoping for a political intervention and don't realise how electorally toxic that would be. So they are not intending to convince the judge, but their "top G army".

The Romanian documentation includes reference to the so-called "belt video" which apparently was commissioned by someone and made them a lot of money (without searching for it, I can't remember whether it was €900k or €1.3M). The girl being beaten in the video was apparently 15.

Luckily (just not for them) they've already burned that bridge anyway, or their lawyer did. As I was saying, blackmail doesn't work if it's public. Then complying is just a public confession. After they publicly threatened to expose both Trump's son and Rubio's son, none of those are going to open that can of pressurised faeces for the obvious reason.

AND they just moved themselves from the category of Trump's supporters, to guys who threatened Trump. Trump went full Sith mode or at least sued over FAR less.

And the rest of the "Top G army" is getting smaller by the day, after they and their lawyer admitted they were fake, it was just for comedy and to get you to buy their courses, and in their lawyer's words, "If you believe everything that Top G says is true, there's something wrong with you." They're getting unsubscribed at a record rate. They practically self-cancelled.

Only now it sinks in. (Sorry, I'm slow.) Oh dear. OH DEAR. I hope it's not also weekly in the USA, or looking at THAT list... they'd be speed-running obesity :P

Well, I guess they could then rebrand themselves as body positivity influencers :P

Yup, I was thinking along those lines as well.

I do hope they are as competent at hiding their assets as they are at everything else.

Just as a clarification: "Ongoing" aka "Continuing" legally means it happened more than once and/or over a period of time of more than a day. Like, holding someone captive becomes "ongoing" if you hold them captive for more than a day. Or robbing the same store twice on different days becomes "ongoing." Which, honestly, was IMHO obvious. They did it in Romania between 2017 and 2022.
