The Win/Win for the Dems is Kentucky. If the Dem beats Rand the Insane, they get a pickup. If Rand wins, he will be a huge embarassment to the GOP and the "Senator From Hell" to the GOP Senate Leadership, Minority or Majority. You can hide a nutcase like Rand's Daddy in a 400 plus member house, but you can't hide a loon as Senator. Yeah, to pick up the seat is certainly preferrable, but a raving nutcase to prove an constant embarassment to the Republicans is a nice consolation prize.
