Well, I suppose it might be one way to tempt Scrut to take part.

I don't think it makes a lot of difference to how helpful someone can be as a volunteer, as long as they know the basic information that's going to be needed, and who to go to if you need more.

For the most part, yes. But, sometimes historical context makes things interesting.

It could also be a hinderance: TAM 3 was a different beast. The crowd was smaller, so you have better access to the guests.

An old-timer might not appreciate just how difficult a newbie has it, when it comes to schmoozing.

Boy is that ever true. Back at TAM4 I was able to have a 30 minute talk with Ray Hyman about an essay I was working on. (He knew the players.) That's not to say that "celebrity skeptics" aren't still approachable. It's just that the schmooze time is not what it used to be. Most guests are still very approachable, but to get to everyone, their time is now pretty much limited to a photo and a handshake.

Thanks Bumlet5 for answering my PM about asking your volunteers questions now, in this thread. I have a few q's.

Are TAM attendees subject to confrontations from religious protestors, like at the reason rally?
The way the DelMar has been mentioned in a few posts, it seems like it may have a frat house atmosphere. Is this true?
Are attendees as argumentative in person as they can get on the forum?
