I had never met paperskater before TAM. I'd just taken a chance because of her terrific posts that she would be willing to help out a poor magician from Spofford NH.
Hello, there IS A GOD, because no way could I have picked a better assistant (oh she was MORE than an assistant, she was an equal partner).
We did ONE RUN THROUGH of the magic act before actually doing it! (she had been watching it over and over on youtube).
As KingMerv wrote, she was SUCH fun backstage, and made the nervousness of performing instead become "oh this is going to be such FUN!!!". And it WAS.
I adore her, and I can never thank her enough for saying "YES" to helping me out. It wasn't just helping it was "OK, you have to go under this little table for a long time, oh and your timing has to be perfect even though you really can't see what I"m doing and did I mention that also under the table will be props...." Plus I had a slight case of Magicianzilla before the performance.
After, she was TERRIFIC also as we shared in our victory of not gettig booed off. Any woman that will wear bunny ears for a perfect stranger (but I hope now friend) is beyond wonderful in my book.
