I agree the forum should have a tangible presence , if only to sort out confusion in non-cyberspace residents about what it actually is- and what it's relation to JREF is. The kind of info and links Rebecca was erupting during her presentation should be available too, Skepchick.org, Skeptical Community, Skepticality and the like. Play down any imagined rivalry and stress the shared aims.
On the questions about the Riviera- and I admit I was less than overwhelmed by the place myself-maybe we could all come up with ideas to cut costs for TAM? The choice of venue has to be made by those with access to the numbers- interesting to hear about the "fines" for bringing in food for instance. Any more useful info welcomed.
Linda mentions the cost of printing the introductory packets. I think there's scope for savings here. A few timetables on noticeboards would do. If the raw data were posted here or on the Randi.Org homepage a few days ahead, we could all copy and print it for ourselved. Now if every forum member printed half-a-dozen copies in A4 or 8 1/2 x 11" format...
As for the party catering- what cost to hire a bar somewhere? Or the Peppermill. We practically hired the place some days anyway.
