TAM6 Photo Thread

I'm not ignoring you, Articulett; I'm just perpetually dazed and confused at TAM, trying to catch the deluge in a paper cup (he said while wearing his spiffy new Crowded House T).

On the serious: one ignores Articulett at one's own risk.

For some, I assure you, not ignoring me puts them at a bigger risk.

(But not you, of course, Phyz. I'm trying to study the fine art of being nice... even blushing... from you. I swear... I am not normally the person I am at TAM ... my inner geek just gets all excited and talkative being amongst my peeps--and it had been a year and a half for me... a long, long year and a half. I'm really a very mild and docile personality. Really.)

Anyhow, you get to go on the cruise where where you can relax without my harassment... knowing that I'm jealous... and will take it out on you next time I see you.

"is that a pink tribble on your shoulder or are you just pleased to see me?"

Who is the woman in this picture? She looks like she could be My Better Half's sister!

That would be me. I'm forever hearing how I look like quite a few other relatives of various individuals, so your lovely wife will have to take a number and get in line. ;):D

Despite my best intentions, I always come away from TAMs wishing I'd gotten more photos with both speakers and attendees. For TAM 6 I only had one photographic goal - me and Matthew Chapman...

Well, I'm glad I didn't see you and give you a big smooch or something. Especially something!

I would have had some 'splainin' to do...

Mr. Woo

Did anyone else see the "Mr. Woo" slot machines?

We saw this one at Caesar's:

Geez, I thought that was a general goal of TAM attendance! Or is that just Tobias? :whistling:

Since I'm planning to attend next year minus about 40 pounds of me, perhaps the inclination to smooch will be on purely carnal grounds. :D And it's always nice to hear that I resemble a relative that is liked, rather than the "you look like my sister/cousin/aunt - man, I hate her"!

God, I've got to come on to this forum more often. You guys look like my kind of people! I started to feel a bit lonely 'cause nearly all the friends I ever had were Mormons. I start into my normal heretical philosophizing and get the "You think too much!" look. (Kinda pisses me off...)

Still dealing with the last remnants of any religious/spiritual belief, etc., etc. Thinking I should just have a faux tombstone made, put it in my closet, and have it read, "My spirituality." I still think about something that Randi said to me in e-mail once: "Puppy dogs and pizza win out over nonsense, every time...!" I don't know if he meant much by it, but it did mean something to me. The simple, tangible things are what beat out woo-woo, ultimately.

I get that, too! People often tell me I look like someone they know. Maybe the someone is you!

I'm glad I didn't see that, I would have bankrupted myself trying to get a good story about "Making a killing off the Woo at TAM!"

I finally sorted through my hundreds of lousy photos and found a few good ones, the results are here:

Here are a few highlights for the click-impaired. (Ironically you can click these thumbnails to see larger ones).

Who knew that Sid had lucky underwear?

And yes, for those who attended my talk, all my photos in the album are geo-coded. (No, I did not geocode my Slammer photos out of respect for Penn's privacy. But you can find the Slammer online if your google-fu is strong).

Oh, for heaven's sake. I had at least half a dozen photos that I took with my BlackBerry at the whiskey party, that I've been meaning to upload to my home computer. But yesterday was my last day at work, and the tech lady swept it completely clean, meaning I've lost a couple good shots. Most weren't anything special, but there was one really good one of Dr. ASK's liquor and cigar buffet, all laid out beautiful and sparkling when we first walked in. Dr. ASK, I'm sorry, I was going to post it for you!

I lost over half of my film but these three came out well. A few more are on my myspace page (link is in my sig).
