TAM6 Arrival Times

Nancy and I will be arriving (by car) on Wednesday at or around 2:00 PM. We'll obviously have a car available.

I haven't found any shuttle service, so, I plan to use the local bus service -- The Deuce -- to go to the Flamingo. It costs $2.00 versus $13.74 plus tip for a taxi. Just go to rtcsnv.com and look for the Paradise route #108 schedule. It's a pdf. [Sorry, I can't post a URL]

The bus should be alright as long as you don't have too much luggage to wrestle with.
 
A little suggestion...

If you've been to a previous TAM, wear one of your TAM T-shirts on your flight. That way if you run into a fellow TAMer at the airport when you arrive, you can can recognize each other and strike up a conversation, and maybe share a cab to the Flamingo.

There is a liquor store about a block east of the Flamingo at the corner of E. Flamingo Rd. and Audrie St. It's called the Stage Door and the address is 4000 Audrie.
 
There is a shuttle service from the airport to all strip hotels. As I recall, it cost five dollars. But since it stops at every hotel, it can take a while. Last year I took it and the Riviera was the last stop which made me late for the reception.

This year I will be coming in at 12:45 on Thursday, USAir from LAX which will give me plenty of time. (The reception is also at a later hour this year.) But if someone wants to share a cab ride, I'm in. I will wear a TAM shirt in the hope that that happens...

Strictly speaking, there is nothing keeping me from packing, getting in my car, and leaving right now.

However, as a practical matter, I really can't/shouldn't. So reading about people already there or about to be there is very difficult on my self-control....

My wife and I are coming in at 7:45PM on Wednesday, flight United 1475. We'll probably just catch the Shuttle bus--it's not like its a long ride or very expensive. We'll wear our TAM5 t-shirts so that others can recognize us.

I have to check the rest of the boards here again, but are there any happenings that night?

Leave Las Vegas 1:05 pm Sun June 22 (Stirling and SGF8

For those arriving close to my time, we will be in baggage claim after the flight arrives. Stirling will be carrying a pig, and I will have a bright blue JREF bag (the one we got from TAM last year) I will try to be conscience of making sure Randi's face and the logo are showing.

I suppose we will take the shuttle bus as it is very near our hotel, and cheap (want to save my money for the bar or books). Would love to travel with others, I am tend to get lost (distracted) easily. I printed the map, and will try and have Stirling read the tiny print and tell me where and what to go.

I suppose I am looking for these people...

I think I'm pretty sure on my arrival time now, sometime early Thursday morning, in my own car. If there are people needing a ride from the airport any time after maybe 9 a.m., I can make myself available.

Well, I was planning on walking, but, the more I think about it, it might be too hot to walk that far with luggage(even though it's a dry heat:-D). I am writing this at 2:30AM Monday morning and it's still 91 degrees in Vegas(feels like 85). Transferring to the 202 sounds like a good idea.

BTW, I am arriving on Delta 65 at 6:40PM. TobiasTheCommie, do you look like your avatar? If so, I'll be able to find you on the plane.

If we're still on for meeting in the baggage claim at six, we'll need to figure a few things out---the area has two levels, and sixteen carousels. Where will we meet, and how will we recognize each other?
