London? Toronto?
How 'bout a compromise - London, Ontario...
...or not...

Ah, Minnesota. That's practically Canada's cousin. I like you.
New Yorkers making fun of Toronto are what make me twitch.![]()
That's what all the Canadians seem to say. A perfect example of context defining one's expectations; I suppose, compared to the rest of the country, it may be a fun city.
And! You don't "freeze your ass off" in May. Maybe your thin-skinned American ass can't handle a stiff cool breeze.
I'm not sure that we need to bring my ass into the conversation, but when I was there last May it was about 40 degrees. Again, I guess it's a matter of what you're used to, eh?
Let me also add that the biggest landmark near my hotel in downtown Toronto was a building with a plaque that said, "Site of the first moving picture show in Toronto."
I believe that was in 1999.
And, I am originally from Detroit: Windsor's crackhead bastard neighbor.
First of all, you brought your ass into the conversation by implying that one's ass would freeze off in the cold Canadian May weather, since you had that particular experience.
I am entirely uncomfortable with your objectifying my ass in this manner, and refuse to pursue this line of conversation further.
Secondly, Toronto is a great city; perhaps not as great as NYC (gag) but, hey, it's far better than, say, a small-town with a population of, oh, two-thousand, wouldn't you agree?
What's Toronto up to now, about 2,500? Do you count the dog sled teams?
Lastly, your use of the expression "eh" isn't funny. At all.
I apologize. I did not mean to infringe on your trademarked intellectual property.
Indeed. There's also the rest of the UK to consider.
How about having it in Passaic, NJ? Or Newark? Anybody thought of that?
No, I guess not...
I don't have any problem with Toronto, I know people there.
Besides, it's a 'rush' to fly into YYZ. *ducks*
I have to be honest though, I'd rather not go there in January, but are we just extrapolating from a previous pattern that it would be in January?
Yeah! Let's have it in Scunthorpe!
Come to Scunthrorpe, it's not as bad as it sounds!
Hey, I have too much respect for myself to go to Newark or Passaic. I was just trying to find someplace that you would feel comfortable. You know, motels with hourly rates, that kind of thing. We're trying to avoid having you there. Too many chickens crapping on the conference floor and all...
And it would be more expensive (in terms of flights and accomodations), and it would be harder for people in most industries to get time off. That's why most conventions are in Jan/Feb.
