TAM5 rumors

You know. We're only like... four days out of TAM 4. I say we stop rumour mongering and just go whore mongering. Who's with me?

Joining in on this is just making me anxious about making TAM 5 with all my recruits in tow.

Quite a few posters have been complaining about the smoke in the Vegas hotels. A few (notably Bug_Girl) have said they won't be able to attend in Vegas again.

Clean air is yet another advantage of Orlando.

I cannot extol the horror that is the Frontier Casino.

I didn't mind getting to the scruffy little bar where I was able to see a mechanical bull ride by fellow skeptics... but if there is ever an entryway to hell (complete with carpet that adheres to the feet when you walk) - it'll look like the Frontier casino interior. :covereyes

At TAM4 a few of us were discussing where TAM would go since the Stardust was being torn down and we couldn't come up with locations except for Vegas and Orlando. A lot of TAM attendees are on a tight budget so you need to have it in a city that can accomodate 800+ people for a convention, have room rates less than $100 a night, and have other attractions for people to go to off-hours. I don't know where else in the US except for Vegas and Orlando that you can do that. And I'm really wondering what could be arranged in the UK on that kind of price.

I guess the Western is out of the question.

A big crowd of tipsy skeptics clustered together after rumors circulated that we were going bar hopping. In fact, the legends pouring off the tongues spoke of a promised land outside the Stardust where another group of skeptics like us that had gone before. They were awaiting us in the beyond.

We gathered and prepared in the lobby of the Stardust. Our group grew over 45 minutes, but we were told to wait for a chosen few. We spoke to Michael Shermer, and even asked if he'd like to join us in this journey, but this hero did not have the strength to travel with us to the brave new world outside.

fowlsound and delphi could wait no more for the straggling travelers. "Onward!" we demanded, and the crowd followed! Our journey to the promised land began!

We bravely strode out of the womb of the Stardust and into the cold void beyond. The hard surfaces of pavement and sidewalk tried to break our feat, but we struggled on. Even an ambulence sneaking up behind us did not break our singular focus: we would join our fellow skeptics in the land of milk and honey.

Finally, we reached the promised land, where alcohol flowed and feats of strength were performed before our very eyes. Behold! The Frontier!

"10 dollar cover charge?! F#&$ that!" we said and went back to the Stardust.

The Hooters casino just opened. I'm sure that would be a popular choice!
I see the art of Taxidermy is practiced to new lengths there.

I’d eat at the Western first; plus, you’d never get anyone out on stage, they’d be too busy ogling the lounges like a PacMan on ecstasy. :eye-poppi

I'm tempted to nominate this one for the Language Award. Too funny. :)

Don't forget the part where I said I was happy remaining at the Stardust, and Fowlsound called me a "pussy" for not going. I took my seat at the royal bar and not 10 minutes later, look who came back...

Where's your sense of adventure? Fowlsound was right about you, treble_head. Just because you were right doesn't mean you're not a pussy.

A righteous pussy who didn't have to walk in the cold for no reason. And besides, I made out with you didn't I? That's adventurous.

Sigh, and here I was, shaking my head that I didn't earn the title of "TAM slut", when, clearly, it was Delphi's and Treble's to lose. ;)

Well, all I can say is that the bar at the Treasure Island we went to afterwards was a lot better.

Yes Kiless, I've walked across that River Sticks too.
