TAM5 Pub Crawl

Okay, on Thursday evening I'm down for Banachek and the pub crawl. Since I expect Banacheck will run on some time after the puc crawl has started, is there any chance I can get a heads-up where you're likely to be later on in the evening, or better still, a cell phone number so I can ring and catch up with you there?
 
A cell phone is a better bet, Buster knows where we'll be at 11pm....and he's mute. Happy to PM you mine, but I'd get some more numbers as well for backup, as I'd never hear it chatting with the kind of crowd this activity tends to attract. And, since you're thinking it, I don't notice the vibrate very well either. It's a personal problem I'm sure we'll discuss at length during the crawl.

Has it been determined which poker hall we're gonna give up Antique Hunter at yet? Since I'm mobile, we ought to get much further down the strip this year...........or not............
 
I can't believe it. Its 12 days before TAM and you're already talking about where you're going to ditch me. :(

I expect there to be a number of people who'll be at Banachek (including me), so if we have a sizable enough group, we can do what we did last year and either see if we can find the other group and join them, or start our own pub crawl because the other group has:
- already paid a $10 entrance fee to the Frontier bar (remind me again why we did that?).
- despite numerous calls we can't find them anyway.
- they took Mattfn's car and are way more than a 15-30 minute walk from the Riviera.
- Some other reason we may not have thought about until that time.

I'd also be in for the post-Banachek crawl.

Lance Burton's Casino... that would be the Monte Carlo. They have a brewery that makes their own beer there, as well as other restaurants and bars, including a fair to good steakhouse.
 
Alas, the brewery no longer is a microbrewery - they stopped about 2 months ago... They now serve a wide selection of premium bottled and on tap products. Now the only brewpub located in a casino with brew-on-premises is the Main Street Station located in dingy 'ol downtown.
 
Well...

I was a little mistaken in that Ellis Island does appear to have a microbrewery in a casino. But I haven't been to that particular venue.

I'll rephrase my original statement: The only major casino in Las Vegas either on the strip or downtown with a brew-on-premises is now the Main Street Station.

On relative goodness of beers etc... The MSS brewpub is pretty darned tasty.
 
I'll hit the Double Down. THat's a Vegas must and I've got crew there.

If anyone is going downtown, I've got a little money left on Gift Certificates for my old restaurant; I might be able to buy everyone a beer :)

And for cabs... if anyone is taking a cab, I know a cab driver that works until midnight and he plays the didgeridoo in his cab. He rocks. Let me know if you want his number when in vegas and getting sloshed.

Bub Crawl

I am definitely up for the pub crawl tonight. I stopped by the Double Down Saloon last night, but did not recognize anyone. Also, I stopped by kind of late, so you guys might have left.

In the previous years that I have gone to TAM, I have not been able to go to the night events. I am not missing out this year! :) Glug, glug, glug...

Who should I PM my phone number to, to make sure we connect? You can also send yours to me.

OK, so you brought me out of lurking.

The club in the New Frontier is Gilley's. It's a replica of the bar in Urban Cowboy. I am the A/V/L tech there, & I DJ there Tuesday-Saturday. Just for the record, there's another DJ there, & he can be mean, so I hope we don't get confused for each other.

Also, I don't particularly care for the format, but it's a gig.

That said, a few points of interest:

-The stage is the first stage Elvis ever played in Vegas.
-It's also the stage George Carlin was working when he got fired for doing his 7 obscene words bit.
-It was also Siegfried & Roy's stage for a time; a few trap doors are still visible although the back door for the elephants is walled over now. I can still see it when I'm working on some of the gear.
-That all said, I've seen a drunk pee on that stage, so enough about that.

I can probably get a group in on Saturday, provided it's a well-behaved group that's not gonna get me fired.

Hey DJ db - welcome! I didn't make it out last night, but I suspect a bunch of us may be interested in making an appearance on Saturday. (Well, I know of at least three people) How do we get on the exclusive Frontier list? And welcome to the Forum!!!

I'll need to know in advance how many people & what time approximately. There's no guest list; we'd have to hire door staff that can read. I'll have to be found.

I'm there from 7-2.

Just for the record, I was a first-year member of JREF; I just don't spend any time on message boards. At least, not this one. Time constraints & all.
