Tam IV geek-out.

I brought Settlers of Catan, Munchkin, and Chez Geek to Tam3. No takers. And I posted a thread just like this one before I went.

What I found was that everyone split up into various groups on Saturday night, all going out and partying at differant places.

Shame, I miss the lounge that we took over at Tam2.

I think therein lies the problem. The hospitality suites just aren't big enough to fit all those people (for that matter, neither was that lounge, but we just sort of spilled over into the hallway).
Perhaps we should just hijack one of the bars in the casino early in the evening.

If you bring Settlers of Catan and Chez Geek again, Nyarlathotep, Schizobunny and I could probably be enticed into a game.

Kim and I have played Settlers of Catan too. It's been a while since we've played and you have to help us, but she might be up for a game.

link, young link, zelda, sheik, and ganon are all playable characters.

so, $50 a game?

Well, someone else will probably have to bring it, since, as I mentioned in Pirate_Lad's thread, I most probably won't be able to make TAM4.

Of course, with all these delays in getting OUT of St. Louis, and over to Japan, who the heck knows... Let's just say I should have been out of here back in NOVEMBER, but things have been getting in the way.

I seriously should get some sort of world-wide conspiracy going where a bunch of people like LostAngeles, Clarsct and their ilk get a letter insisting that they move to the most isolated city in the world (Perth) for their own health and wellbeing and join Friday night gaming sessions. :(

You haven't tried living in Tasmania. Launceston doesn't even have a single shop that carries nerdy pen and paper goodness.

OK, besides some MtG cards, I will absolutely have to bring The Great Dalmuti. But probably not the hats.

You sound like just the type of people to love Dalmuti!

I'm also up for D&D, although I haven't played it since 2nd Ed.

I am supprised that not one person has mentioned FLUX. I think that I can get one or two of the sets away from my wife to bring.

Not sure if I am going to bring some MtG cards. Most of mine are way too old to do anything against any of the newer cards.

Well, it turns out that I AM going after all.

My newest acquistion happens to be Primordial Soup
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/124

Wherein each player has control over his team of amoebas, and keeps them on the move, finding food, avoiding starvation, dividing, and evolving new genes to give his/her amoebas the edge they need to survive and triumph over the other amoebas.

Of course, such a game woudn't appeal to anyone at a science convention, would it?

I also have:
Carcassone: Hunters and Gatherers
Citadels
Modern Art
Fearsome Floors
Cloud 9
Apples to Apples
and yes, even, Munchkin

Someone else can bring Settlers this time. Well, if no one else has it, let me know, and I'll try and fit it in. Really, too luck influenced for my tastes these days, but as the crowd wills...

I'm totally down with nerding out with you guys... but won't we be in Vegas? I mean... sitting in a room RPing when I could be on the strip going wild... is my inner nerd that strong?

In my own defense, since I live just outside Reno anyway, a casino crawl has little allure to me.:p

And I prefer games where I have a chance and get to use my brain and laugh with other intelligent beings. Even if the games are silly far better that then pretending you can win millions by pulling handle on one armed bandits and not interacting with other humans :p

I don't even mind if my body gets looted after a monster kicks my butt in Munchkin...as long as I get to loot someone else's body at some point ;)
