TAM Australia

I just think that it's slightly evil to start selling the tickets at 9am on a Sunday, especially considering that the Socceroos will be playing until 2am on the same morning...

I think it's quite cool actually. Buying tickets Mon - Fri is always a pain in the bum, as it's usually when most people are starting work. Too many distractions, and employers asking you to be "productive", whatever THAT means! :)

Sunday gave me a chance to get up early, grab a cup of tea, and settle down in front of the computer without the fear of getting assigned something else. :)

Registration complete. I booked the harbour cruise dinner as well.

Me too!

Well, this wins for the most frustrating online registration I've ever done.
I'm registered, but haven't been able to pay. I wanted to register my boyfriend along with me but even though I registered as a student, the "would you like to add a partner" screen would only let me add another person at the adult price, not student price.

I've been sitting at the computer for more than an hour now trying to register my boyfriend as well, but now I have to go to work.
Hopefully there'll still be some tickets when I come home from work at 2pm, though I'm not exactly optimistic. I'm hoping my registration will still be there, even though I haven't paid. I suppose I'll go without him if I have to.

I assume that your registration will still count.

EDIT: Hmmm... For students, "Half must be paid on registration and the balance by September 1st to claim the early rate".

I'm all set. I've got a golden ticket. (Search "Ive Got A Golden Ticket" on YouTube. Unable post URLs yet.) :(

Arranged my flights and accommodation last night. :)

Just got home now and had a look. My registration was still there, so I paid it just then. I figure that should be alright. They're all processed by hand anyway as I understand.

I'm still looking for a hotel. I've stayed in the Quest World Square before and it was okay but I don't mind walking for 15 minutes down to the Cross to save $50 per night.

I'm Defence and I am seriously thinking about staying at Kuttabul. There are some reasonable prices about, but there are seriously outrageous prices being touted.

I normally stay at the Bayview in William Street, but that's when it's paid for by work. I thought of concocting a reason to visit Sydney and getting work to pay for it, but have thought better of it. FWIW, I have stayed at the Vibe and it wasn't great. The Ibis World Square looks a better bet, and cheaper.

I'm booked, for the Friday function and the Saturday night dinner. A bunch of other Canberra people are also booked in - we're probably going to do a carpool of some kind.

The Ibis has a $119 per night rate. It's a three minute walk from the Masonic Centre.

Are we talking about the same one? The Ibis World Square (about 3 mins away) is quoting me $149 per night. Perhaps I'll get a government discount.

There was a special this morning, not the conference special, for $119. Just checked it, it's still there. I don't think you could get a better deal anywhere.
