So, at TAM8 I finally discovered that I'm thinking of a different Bill Nighy than everyone else is.

I would like to see TAM at a different time of year. That July weather is effing ridiculous! April/May maybe?

TAM used to be in January. I believe part of the reason it was moved to the summer months was so that students and teachers could attend with less disruption to the school year.

Las Vegas is a great place for TAM because of the availability of people like Banachek, Penn and Teller, Mac King, etc. and variety of evening entertainment and eating places. You don't have to stay at the hotel the entire conference.

Also, the stay for me in Las Vegas is very cheap. I went home with the same amount of cash and the credit card balance as I came in with. It takes a lot of patience to win enough on penny slot to cover the cost of dinner and drink for five days.
