TAM 9 Roll Call

Well, to buy a home I have to take out a loan. I have no biological kids and I'm pretty sure that Mama Mortis would be upset if I didn't get a REALLY good price for sold hers.

If I hit the lottery, I'll be there. Otherwise, I'll invoke the Chicago sports fan's mantra: wait 'til next year".

That's what I thought until last year, when random elements appeared to conspire in my favour, and got me to both Vegas and London.

Common mistake - don't sell the kids. You get better prices for parts - you can get more for just one kidney or cornea than for a whole kid. Just saying...

I'm 97% sure I'll make Vegas, but not London. I'd do London too, but the timing is off for me this year. I liked London better in many ways; maybe it was just the accents were better.

I know what I'm doing.

Same here! I have wanted to come since joining the forum years and years ago. A couple of years ago I did lock myself into an out of the way room to watch the Ustream. I managed to catch Rebecca Watson's wedding and Adam Savage's talk.

@Jas and others: yeah, I'm pretty excited too! I'll admit I did a little crying when I realized I could go... this will be a terrific experience. And I'll get to see Jas! and hcmom! not to mention many others. I am really thrilled. :D I'll be the person hugging everybody...

Any First TAMmers who are curious about the casino should look at the floorplan at http://www.southpointcasino.com/pressroom/presskit/floorplan.pdf .

The Del Mar Lounge is "3" on Level 1.

TAM is in the Grand Ballroom on Level 2. On the Level 1 floorplan, that gray rectangle above and to the right of "25" is a corridor. You can turn left as soon as you leave the banks of guest elevators and get to "27". You don't have to walk all the way around "23".

For scale, the Grand Ballroom is 216' long.
 
I'd add that the conference center is cut off from the bowling alley and movie theater.

Plus they added a Steak and Shake since this floor plan was created.

It's a very helpful map, but I hope they have an updated version for the TAM App.

It looks like they've expanded (if you notice on the old floor plan, it always showed a "future expansion" area). The casino used to end at the sports book, now there is a race book and a Grand View Lounge (we'll have to see how it compares to the Del Mar). The Steak N Shake is also to the left of the buffett, where previously there was nothing. There's also something called the Malibu Bar in the lower right which I don't think was there before.
