TAM 8 Roll Call!

I used the pool and it was not very swimming friendly (shallow and twisty and HOT). The mirrored windows on the hotel all seemed to reflect the sunlight down on the pool area, and there wasn't much by the way of shade (scraggly palm trees or expensive cabanas). The fitness room/spa was much better if you are looking for a workout.

ETA: I didn't find the water too cold, but I am used to swimming in various oceans. By HOT, I mean the area around the pool. Morning might not be so bad, but I would still use the fitness room for any workouts.

Ok, I'm crunching the numbers.

Trying to figure room costs... does anyone know the promotional code for the hotel Web site, or do you have to call?

According to the main TAM page, the code is The Amaz!ng Meeting – 2010 but it does not state what the rate is.

I booked during one of the 50% off promos and got five nights at an average of $56/night (this was for the second-cheapest rooms).

Piggy,

There is a 50% off sale starting on the 23rd of March. Got an e-mail from South Point advertising it last week. Alternatively, you can use this.

Apparently, that's by phone b/c the Web site doesn't recognize that code.

I finally got off my lazy butt (not really, I was actually sitting at my computer) and registered. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Well, folks, the budget just went south. Looks like I'll be spending my TAM money to have a laser burn out part of my heart instead. :(

TAM would have been more fun.

Combine them. They gave us all laser pointers last year, and there are lots of doctors for the science-based medicine pre-conference sessions. A good time to be had by all!

Sorry, you won't be there. The good news is, the procedure should not be very time consuming (I was out of the hosptital the same day). I had one a few years ago, scheduled it on a Thursday, only missed Thurs and Friday, and was back to work on Monday.

Updated, just for you Paul :p

Registered and excited! Last year was fun when I didn't know anybody...this year will be filled with folks I know. Too bad I don't know their forum names.

Yeah, we should prolly have a list of nicks/names for people on the forums who are new to the forums but have been to TAM/TAAs. Does such a thing exist?

I'm afraid to say it, but add me in. Last year I said that and got really, really sick and had to miss everything.

Sorry to be picky, picky, picky, but we got felt tip pens last year and lasers the year before...It will be good to see you again.:)

We need moderation at TAM...especially Scrut.
