TAM 2015 Call for Volunteers

We had buttons last year. I have two now. If there isn't anyone to make up buttons, I suspect most of the TAMbassadors past can spare one button to give to someone who wants to be a TAMbassodor for the first time.

Oh. And helping people with directions this year will not be as easy as it has been, given that we will all be at a new venue.

What about First TAMmer buttons?

I've still got my TAMbassador button and happy to use it again (directing people to the wrong place now that we're in a new hotel ;)) or give it to someone else.

First TAMmer buttons are always a big hit, and actually do help people fit in and meet others, IMO. I hope we can coordinate getting those made again (don't we have some left over from last year?), especially if there will be an ISF table. It always helps draw people in. I'm happy to contribute to that if needed.

Scott, I will likely contact you re. volunteering again--still working on my schedule, which hopefully I'll have sorted out soon.

I have some left over First TAMmer buttons and I may have some extra TAMbassador buttons too. I will check next week and make sure I can get them to someone who will be at TAM this year.

When will assignments be posted/emailed?

Hi Scott

I volunteered ages ago, but have not heard about the assignments. I thought they would be out by now.

Sent you an email with a similar question ...

PS: For the last 2 years it has been big TAMbassador buttons. I can bring mine.

I don't think Scott has sent out assignments before sometime in June in the past, so I wouldn't worry. I just registered today (last day for the early bird discount, as anyone on the JREF emailing list is no doubt aware!) and sent my volunteering info via the site as well.

I also have my TAMbassador button, but seeing as it'll be a new venue for everyone, I don't know how much we can do, except be friendly. :)

I'll gladly volunteer, if you can use a TAM newbie. :)

I'll just have to check a few things first - I'm pretty sure I'll be able to volunteer on any tasks setting up the conference on Wednesday, and maybe on Tuesday - depending on whether I can arrange the trip to Grand Canyon I want to do for Monday. (I'll be arriving late on Saturday, and probably will want Sunday to just take it easy).

So I'll register to volunteer once I've got my schedule there better worked out.

Ok, just arranged a day trip to the Grand Canyon on Monday, as I wanted, so I'll be available to help set things up on Tuesday and Wednesday.

So just registered to volunteer. :)

I figured out why I wasn't getting emails despite subscribing to this thread -- my email address was corrupted; I should be getting notifications now.
I PMed everyone who posted questions or offered to volunteer since my last post here.

I just learned that I received only about half of the volunteer submissions that people submitted. None ended up in my spam filter; they just vanished en route to me. Luckily the event management company had received the all and I'm contacting the "new" volunteers.

At least I think we've got them all. If you volunteered and did not get an email from me today stating the above, please PM me or email me at scott atsign here randi. org

(Boy, I've been having problems this year.)

TAM13/2015 volunteers with James Randi, photographed earlier today by Brian Engler. (Yes, we get the extra-special green shirts. :))

GREAT photo! And thank you to the volunteers. It looks like a lot of fun, and those are definitely great shirts!
