Still, I have to wonder why an atheist has such passion, unless it is from lack of faith.

Well, excuse my word choice. I meant to say that even I, definitely not well-versed in the Bible, smelled the ratPOTA said:Great...I mean...uh...I'm a little offended you call it a 'trick'.

I bet there's still a huge number of poeple out there that would actually be surprised at the contradictions within that book.
I think it's a very good idea, but I think the domain name is a problem. If you want people casually take the test, make them think it's some neat piece of Bible trivia, they certainly don't think so when they see the domain name and your logo on the top of that page. I think you should "disguise" it better, then the punch line of it hits stronger. Only tried it twice now, I also think it should give some explanation after the second try. Really naive people will think your script doesn't work and that's why they always score 0POTA said:Yeah, I know this board is not my target audience, figured I would throw it on here and get everyones thoughts before I start posting it on other boards (I did put it up at christianity.com and have since been banned...and the thread deleted, oh well, their loss)
My biggest hope is that maybe some people in here will like it enough that they will share it with their 'faithful' friends and family.

First, some of the questions are obscure. You could do better by asking questions about well-known Bible stories, such as the creation story, the Noah's ark story, the Exodus story, the stories about the early days of Jesus, the stories about the fame of Jesus, the stories about the death of Jesus, the end times, and the like.
Second, rethink your conclusion (which I understand is offered with a note of jest). Inconsistencies in the Bible do not establish that there is no deity or that Christianity is invalid. What they do establish is that it is foolhardy to read every biblical passage literally. There are some Christians who recognize that the Bible includes a good deal of metaphor, and that it includes competing (i.e., disagreeing) traditions. A quiz of this kind can point out how a literal reading can lead to problems.
Ya, I learned the hard way; when posting on a skeptic-centric board triple check my own birthday and Google my own name because if there is a slight error someone will call me on it.POTA said:Damn, just when I thought I finally had an original idea.
