I'm still trying to figure out what is so good about 479. It isn't much of a flop. I mean if you are holding 899T (top set w/ a redraw to the top straight or full house) or maybe 68TJ (16 outs to the top straight) then it isn't bad. However, if you have a premium holding like TJQK or AAKQ that flop gives just enough rope to hang yourself.

I guess it depends on the game. If it is holdem that isn't to bad of a flop for a big hand like AA, but it is has much peril for something like AK, especially if you are playing with people who will play something like 47.

Plus, I'd advise against an obsession with 47. That should be folded from all positions except maybe if it is suited you could limp for a partial bet from the small blind against a field of weak players. Other than that it is a clear fold.

I really wouldn't suggest playing 1453 (A453) unless it is a high-low game. Even then I be wary of a raise from a tight player if it looks to be a shorthanded pot, but otherwise I'd likely see the flop with it. I'd want the ace to be suited before I'd raise with it.

So coincidence or not, 1453 isn't any big shakes, and doesn't fit that good to a flop of 479 as you don't have much of a high going and if you get any action someone could have an A2 making your low draw second best even if you get there. You need a good read on your opponents in this situation.

Well obviously I can't give you a complete scientific breakdown here, as I tend latch on to those things -- much more readily -- which seem symmetrical. And in case you hadn't noticed, in most of the symbolism I've developed, the symmetry is there. Whereas this "mirror image" thing (I like "reciprocal" better) is more in the manner working with the number 11 which, itself suggests "symmetry."

As for adding 479 to 974 to get 1453, that isn't to say there's nothing there, just that it's not apparent at this point.

And by the way, the last three digits of the post your're referring to end with 479.

They only seem symmetrical because you impose your own strange definition of symmetry upon them. They are not "mirror images" of the numbers. The mirror image of the number 4 is not a 4 nor any symbol common to english or math. You are simply rearranging the digits to suit your own purpose.

Really? In binary, the base 10 number 11 would be 1011. In base 8 it would be 13. There is nothing symmetrical about those arrangements of digits. What you are doing is called data mining. You look for data that fits your theory. If it doesn't fit, you either ignore it or torture it until it fits. It is completely worthless as an analysis tool.

Today I woke-up at 5:19 A.M. I found it strange because usually I open my eyes at 4:50-5:00.

I thought that this was not coincidental but I let it go. In the mean time I was thinking what to do with a very nice sauce I prepared the previous evening and then suddenly it all made sense.

What is 5 hours and 19 minutes??? But of course!!! It's 479 minutes!!!!!

This damn 479 appeared again, so since I was thinking about food I thought to open Larousse Gastronomique on page 479 and....you won't believe it Iacchus....

It was a recipe about pork tenderloin. I was thinking to use my red sauce with pork tenderloin but I wasn't certain. The number 479 spoke though.The chicken stock reduction with pomegranite syrup can be used with pork tenderloin.

Of course I could add that I made this red sauce to be used in Saint Valentine's dinner but I have been working for some time on it. Do you think that it's coincidental that the revelation came on the Eve of Saint Valentine's day?

Nice story! But then again this is the sort of thing I would expect to see if people were working with the numbers the same way I do.
