Sylvia Browne: Linda Rossi interview

Thanks, Resume!

No, really, you're doing something about these frauds while the rest of us peer over the bushes and say "Good on yuh!"

Hopefully the rest of us well get off our dead arses and help you out. As a matter of fact, what kind of help would help?

Believe me, even THAT helps keep me going. More than you guys know.

Thanks for asking. When I get seriously working on my next set of Stop Sites, I plan to be more the editor than the author, and will be issuing calls for articles here. I have five such sites planned, and there is just no way I could write al of the articles needed for them.

Whatever I can do, you can count on. I'm fairly certain you'll find any number of like minds here.

Thanks, Resume! I will make those Calls for Articles here in the General Skepticism and Paranormal forum. I would make an estimate as to when that might be, but, since I estimated those sites would be up and running in 2008, I don't think I should just yet.

Do what you must, when you must. I am certain that when you need help, you will find it here.

someone is now claiming that SB predicted Randi's heart problem .. as well as a lot of other tripe on the SB forum

Randi is 82 years old. I'd find it amazing if he didn't have a heart problem. Yes, the lady is a fake.

The figure for a reading keeps dropping. According to http://www.sylviabrowne.com :

It was $750 three years ago.

$750. for a phone reading.
It's right there on her website (which I will avoid linking to).

Why do people keep saying $700? Even on the Anderson Cooper interview (with Randi) the number was quoted incorrectly.

Edit. It was $850 in September 2008

I believe she said she would die when she was 88. Oh and just so everyone knows, she now charges $850 for a phone reading. Not sure if this means she now gives readings in more detail, has improved her accurate percentage rate, or psychic readings are also affected by inflated rate like everything else. Either way that is $850 dollars too much.

It was $850 in 2008, 2009 and early 2010 (normal price per her website, see below). In spring 2010 it was $795 (see my post). Now in August 2010, it is $750.

Browne's own website shows the drop.

Under "Psychic Readings" it says:

Details

Fees
Phone reading with Sylvia - $850
Phone reading with Chris - $500 (in-person appts. also available with Chris)

However, at the main page http://www.sylviabrowne.com :

According to StopSylvia.com FAQ:
stopsylvia.com said:
Q: Have you had a reading with her?

A: No. Nor do I plan to, for several reasons, including:

1. I do not have $850 to waste.

2. I would not want to put $850 into the pocket of someone I consider to be a con artist.

As for Browne's son, Chris Dufresne, from StopSylvia in 2008:
http://stopsylvia.com/articles/email_myreadingwithsylviassonchris.shtml said:
I have listened to enough audio tapes of Dufresne's phone readings to know this one is fairly typical: generic health advice (frequently the same), followed by non-verifiable predictions for the future.

At a cost of $450 (recently raised to $500).
