Sylvia Browne has had a heart attack

*phone rings*

S.B.: Hello?
J.E.: Sylvia? It's John, John Edwards.
S.B.: Oh, hey John, what's up?
J.E.: Well, I just got a really strong premonition and it concerned me, so I thought I'd call.
S.B.: What is it?
J.E.: I'm getting a... is it M?... no, no, it's an H, definitely an H. Wait! It's a pair of letters, perhaps initials. H. A. Does that have any meaning to you?
S.B.: No, none. And I...
J.E.: It would be someone or something very near and dear to you, something close to your heart.
S.B.: No, nothing John. And my spirit guide assures me there is nothing to worry about. But I appreciate your concern. Call anytime.
J.E.: Ok, Sylvia, take care.

*hangs up*

S.B.: Nutball.
J.E.: Whackjob.

And, for those who didn't see this in my thread "Resident Skeptic - Show #4"

I began my radio show on Saturday with the following:

I realize some may not consider it "proper" to use this as ammunition, but can anyone in all seriousness read this, consider that Sylvie [allegedly] essentially prayed for RSLancastr's stroke and, as far as I'm aware (which isn't very far in all honesty), offered nothing nearly as full of concern as what RSLancastr said above, and still consider RSLancastr the "dark entity"?

First the heart attack announcement begged for money for Sylvia's church. Now they're hawking her jewelry and upping the number of appointments for Chris.
Here's the most recent update:

Special Urgent Announcement Update
Thankfully, Sylvia's health continues to show slow but steady improvement each day. She is still hospitalized in Hawaii but doctors are hopeful she will be stable enough to return home to California in the near future. On behalf of Sylvia and her family, we want to thank everyone who has sent her cards, flowers, words of encouragement and countless prayers during this past week. We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the monetary support that has been donated to her church, The Society of Novus Spiritus. Sylvia has been made aware of the outpouring of love and support that has been sent to her and asked that we specifically express her overwhelming gratitude to everyone who has reached out.

Sylvia's son, Chris, has been singularly carrying the burden of keeping our company going by extending his reading schedule as much as possible. In doing so, we are opening up additional appointments daily for him, and as of April 1st, at the special fee of $350.00 for a limited time. Please call the office at (408) 379-7070 to schedule an appointment.

Sylvia's current lecture schedule has been put on hold pending her health status in the coming months. Even though Sylvia's lectures are on hold in the near term, you still have the opportunity to purchase pieces from her spiritual jewelry line. Many new designs have been added to the collection just in time for Easter, Mother's Day and Graduation. Go to sylviabrownejewelry.com to view each stunning piece and its meaning.

There is both a company and a church. They are separate. I think.

But the e-mail does appear to be a bid for money, not much more than an ad.
Make no mistake; churches are businesses. They take in money in exchange for the 'service' of a dissertation on moral behavior, ethics, and theology. Even though they are tax-exempt, they still must file tax statements, just like any other business.

Novus Spiritus just seems to be less discrete with its money-grubbing methods.
