Swine Flu in San Diego

The WHO is still sticking to 8 deaths worldwide, assuming the Mexican child who died in the US isn't being counted twice:
30 April 2009 -- The situation continues to evolve rapidly. As of 17:00 GMT, 30 April 2009, 11 countries have officially reported 257 cases of influenza A (H1N1) infection.

The United States Government has reported 109 laboratory confirmed human cases, including one death. Mexico has reported 97 confirmed human cases of infection, including seven deaths.

The following countries have reported laboratory confirmed cases with no deaths - Austria (1), Canada (19), Germany (3), Israel (2), Netherlands (1), New Zealand (3), Spain (13), Switzerland (1) and the United Kingdom (8).

I received a flushot when I was in the hospital for neck surgery at the end of March. I still came down with the flu (strain unknown) 2 weeks ago 2 days after my friend did. The worst symptoms passed in a day and I was back to work 2 days later.

Several of my co-workers have battled it since with no lasting effects. Since we live and work in San Diego, we were mildly concerned. Needlessly, it seems.
So you had flu that the doctor tested and found and this season's vaccine? That's enough criteria for testing for swine flu.
