Stupid stupid woman...

why not go for a zillion dollar bill?

Sounds like a joke gone bad. My step father, he's a banker, liked to send my kids $2 bills when they were little. They found they had trouble spending them, so we just put them in the bank.

try using those Susan B.Anthony coins too. that's fun....

i've taught at the college level since 1984. i have to tell you, i would not be suprised if a couple of my students had tried to make change for the bill.
people are stupid and getting stupider by the day.

Then it's a good thing we're not in Bedlam, isn't it?
Maybe. Would anyone do this who wasn't either seriously deluded or doing it for comic purposes?

Happened to me. No, not with a $1,000,000 bill, with a $2 bill, at McDonald's. Just for yucks, I got ten $2 in the bank. I paid for a big Mac (or something similar), which was $3.57 or so, with two $2 bills.

The cashier looked at me strangely, but opened the register. There was no empty slot for $2s between the $1s and the $5s. That confirmed his suspicion that the $2 was a fake. He threathened to call the cops.

There's a classic internet story about a Taco Bell employee and a guy with only a $100 and $2 dollar bill.

Oh no! It's real enough! Look at this!

wish they had a picture of the fake. I'm curious to see how she tried to fake a million dollar bill, since they don't exist. What did she think one looked like?

Here's the bill image off CNN.com

Really? When I was in college, the book store would buy back books in $2 bills. Never had any trouble spending them. I think they did it to show how much students propped up the local economy.

The post office stamp machine gives $1 coins (both SBA's and Sacajawea) for change, never had a problem w/ those either.

I've seen some in novelty/magic stores. They have a picture of the face of the Statue of Liberty. You can also order them for promotional reasons, million dollar bill on the front, your business information on the back.

I'm sure there are other variations out there.

I've spent a few $1000 bills in my lifetime. They stopped making those in uh 1969, I think.

The fact that this happened at WalMart gives it the extra surreal dimension that makes this story even funnier.

Maybe she thought they were thousand dollar bills, lol.

I would think the police would have reason for charging her. Maybe she thought the Walmart staff wouldn't notice the "This Note is Non-Negotiable..."

Which president's sig is that supposed to be?

I dunno, can't imagine even trying that. I wonder what all she was trying to buy?

It makes you wonder. If she really thought she had 3 million dollars in her handbag, wouldn't you think her first stop would be the bank?

Heard on the local news last night, referring to this incident:

"An alert sales clerk noticed that the bill was fake."

I think we've found the exemplary WalMart employee.

Yes, now there's a Walmart employee that's really earning his/her minimum wage.
