Its the internet, it is an odd tangent to get hung up on though.I am failing to understand why people keep feeding JK's weird obsession with something irrelevant to the incident.

We hope we can rebuild trust that we weakened or lost last week. We understand that this will not be easy, but we are ready to undertake the reform and reflection necessary to become a better paper.
So strikes, boycotts and collective actions are illegal in Illinois? Tell it to the teacher's union in Chicago.

So strikes, boycotts and collective actions are illegal in Illinois?
Question is section CC still the law here:
http://www.ksrevisor.org/statutes/chapters/ch65/065_007_0071.html
I mean, it's still on the books despite being adjudicated as being unconstitutional. But it's still on the books. So is it still the law of that land?
Just because they haven't taken it off the books, doesn't mean it's the law. Your ignorance of juris prudence not withstanding.
And we already know that the aggrieved students of Northwestern boycotted the paper by refusing to cooperate with them. Sounds like those students need to see the inside of a jail cell.![]()
The legal definition of a "trust" is one where property is held by one party for the benefit of another party. That's the definition I'm using.
These students cannot rebuild "trust" because they never held any property for anyone.
“Trust” can have several different meanings.
“Intimidation” doesn’t.
But hey, maybe you’ll be the first one to step up and offer an example of what legal intimidation would look like instead of just taking potshots from the sidelines.
I’ll be over here holding my breath.
NEWSFLASH at 2.33pm NZT
"People need to make formal complaint for police to investigate most crimes. Sometimes they don't bother reporting it even though it happens"
Thats what any boycott sets out to do -to force someone to change their ways. And based on what has been reported, that’s what happened. The students refused to cooperate. The dean says there was vicious bullying. All to get the paper to stop being journalists. And it worked! It would only be illegal if they used the threat of a boycott to coerce the staff of The Daily Northwestern into a course of action.
This is made pretty clear in the text of the law, which again, it appears no one here has bothered to read.
