Hi!

During the STS-115 welcome-home ceremony astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper collapsed twice and there's a video claiming that she was talking about UFO's in that mission just because she said "something that .. you know, something that you've never seen before , and when I got out of the door there was something different too ... "

I couldn't find a transcript of this ceremony but there's a video from CBS that explains what was she talking about but I just don't get it. She says "watching Dan and Steve doing the --- was something that .. you know, something that you've never seen before ... "

What were Dan Burbank and Steve McLean doing? It sounds to me like "ABS" or "AVS". Could someone please help me finding this?

I'm amazed on how fast the other astronauts reacted and caught Heidemarie.

She said EVA(Extra-vehicular activities). She was describing seeing them doing space walks.
 
I thought the same but according to Wikipedia, Stefanyshyn-Piper did her spacewalk one day before Burbank and McLean. So, based on my vast experience doing spacewalks :) you won't be that impressed seeing someone else doing a spacewalk just after you have done one by yourself. :)

It doesn't matter which order they did the spacewalks in. She was still describing her experience of watching two other astronauts take in a space walk. To her, that was something memorable, even though she had taken part in one the day before.
 
She said "...E-V-As." The "Aze" sounds like an "S". By then she was getting light headed and was slurring some of her words. Nothing unusual while getting the heart back into pumping to the brain against gravity. She shouldn't have been trying to stand; sitting would have been completely acceptable, I'd think. She isn't the first; they took the Russian cosmonauts out of their capsules in wheel chairs, usually.

The "E" sounded like an "A" to me, that got me confused (I'm not a native speaker).
The video claims that she was under post-traumatic stress because she saw something "unusual" and they edited-out the part where she says that Burbank and McLean were the ones doing something "you've never seen before". It sounds convincing when you hear just that part and not the whole sentence.

As far as I can tell, there's no break in that sentence. Yeah, she stuttered a little, but as shadron said, she was light headed.

Exactly, which is why you shouldn't just focus on a few words, and should listen to the whole sentence. She was describing seeing the two astronauts doing a spacewalk. End of.
 
I feel bad for Ms. Stefanyshyn-Piper. Not only did she have a hard time post STS-115, but on her first EVA on STS-126 she dropped her tool bag. But I'm quite certain she didn't see anything resembling a UFO on STS-115 or on STS-126 (when my best friend was a mission specialist who saved the day by sharing his tools on the EVA so they could finish the job.)
