• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

StopSylviaBrowne.com now #8 hit on Google!

#s 1 and 2 both go to Sylvia's own web site, so they should count as one, IMHO.

Slyvia Browne, on the other hand, doesn't get anything for Rob's site. However, this forum is on page 3 :D

Rob, as it's a very common typo, can you add tags to your site or something?

Meanwhile, GSB is nowhere on the first 5 pages when you google "Sylvia Browne."

#3 for me too, ahead of wiki. Looks like you're getting some major traction going, dude. No wonder her lawyers aren't very fond of you.

I hope they get less fond by the time this is done.

I cannot delve into what I think about here on this forum.

I'd hate to be responsible for giving the nannybot a psychotic break.

#4 for me. Above it are the offical site, the wikipedia entry, and the page on the official site for "The Next 100 Years."

Interestingly, right below Stop Sylvia is a YouTube video for the Lancaster/Randi segment on Anderson Cooper. The title of the YouTube video? "CNN Sylvia Brown Fraud." She's going down!!!

P.S. www.stopsylviabrown.com

Ahh it's coming up as #3 now if i use firefox, but #4 if i use internet explorer.
All the more reason to use firefox I spose.:)

What results you see depends largely on which server (or, more accurately, which data centre) you get when you query Google. According to the Wikipedia article on Google's technology, the company maintains several data centres world-wide. Queries from the internet at large are routed globally according to which data centre is the least busy at the time the request is received.

Google does some geolocation based on your IP address, which may be affecting your result set. (For sure it does in China). As to why IE and Firefox get different results, that's probably the result of a cookie being stored by the browser. The cookie may encode which server farm you are directed to, to ensure consistent results across pages.

Current top 10:

Sylvia Browne : The Official Site (her own site)

Sylvia Browne : Psychic Readings (her own site)

Sylvia Browne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (neutral)

Stop Sylvia Browne (critical)

The Sylvia Browne Clock (Randi's, therefore critical)

Sylvia Browne: Psychic Guru or Quack? (at Quackwatch, critical)

YouTube - CNN Sylvia Browne Fraud (critical)

Hay House, Inc. | Authors | Sylvia Browne (her publishers)

FOXNews.com - TV Psychic Misses Mark on Miners (critical)

Digg - TV "psychic" Sylvia Browne told parents of Shawn Hornbeck he was dead (critical)

That's three positive (two of which are Sylvia herself, one her publisher and thus profiting by making her look good), one neutral, six critical.

Sylly is on her way down.

Congrats Robert!

I'm #3 for "sylvia browne predictions 2007" thanks to Skeptico, but that's not as good as your Google. ;)
