StopSylvia email: "your illness"

i am surprised to hear that no relgious nut group has taken "credit" for causing mr randi's cancer i.e we prayed for god to punish him and now he is ill . that kind of crap .

robert the more i read your site and skeptic sites in general the more i belive people will belive what they like no matter what the evidence . it is sad though to see her sucker the families of missing people like Shawn Hornbeck and many others . i am glad the montel williams show is now off air and no longer giving her a platform . keep up your good work .
Just_Me, it is true that some people will believe what they want to, regardless of the evidence. But others can and will consider the evidence, and some of them will change their minds asa result. There are articles on the site which show emails from such "ex-fans" of Browne. I also posted several such emails in a thread here. So, skeptical sites can and do have a positive effect on "believers." Not all, but some. And in my opinion, every single one of those victories makes the site worth my time and effort.

I don't know about that, but if you recall (or not) a little while ego that nut job Eddie Benitez came to the forum and claimed that he could heal Randi with the power of Christ and I quote: "Accept no other explanation for it".

So no, they don't pray to punish but they will pray to "heal".

And yes, stroke victims are generally older folks. I had mine when I was 50 years old, and I was one of the youngest stroke victims at the hospitals where I stayed. But there were a few even younger - in their 30s and 40s. And I saw one young man on a talk show who had been through several strokes. the first when he was six years old! probably a congenital weakness in his brain.
e.
Also, I was morbidly obese when I had my stroke, but very few of the other stroke victims I met were all that overweight.

So yes, old age and obesity can and do play a large role in a person having a stroke, but they are by no means necessary to have one.

You and Susan are absolutely correct. I apologize for getting my facts wrong.

However, the point of my post was that a stroke is not a supernatural event. It is not caused by attempting to harm Sylvia Browne (or anyone else on Earth.) Nor would it be caused by attempting to help Sylvia Browne (or anyone else on Earth.)

It is caused by bleeding in the brain or lack of oxygen supply and glucose to the brain (and factors such as age, weight, stress, etc.) Anyone who claims otherwise simply doesn't know what a stroke is or what causes it. The idea that it would be given out by the universe or by a God to punish is, quite honestly, just ridiculous.

If you think Sylvia Browne is bad take a look at David Thompson (physical medium) based in Sydney, Australia. He's a parasite feeding off the grief of bereved people.

First, don't these people ever stop and consider that the whole point of the web site is to try stop a whole bunch of human beings from being hurt by one human being? I mean, you do actually mention that the reason you chose Sylvia Browne was because you were so upset by the missing persons cases.

Second, I just didn't realize this person had a guide on the 7th level. Did you? Well, that proves it then! She has a guide on the 7th level, Sylvia Browne talked about a 7th level in her book, therefore everything Sylvia Browne says must be true.

We should probably take down the site now.

Third, who is Babaji?

Babaji is mentioned in Yoganada's volume of nonsense,"The Autobiography Of A Yogi" Babaji is an advanced being hundreds of years old,he wanders around Tibet with a band of followers,he can materialise banquets and places, sometimes he and and his posse walk to their next destination, other times he just teleports everyone. He is well known in Theosophical circles,he works hand in glove with the secret masters in Tibet.
