For the first time in a long time, I just did a Google search for "Sylvia Browne" to see where my site was listed when someone searches on her name.

I know it varies from country to country, etc., but here and now, the sites listed are, in order of their listing, are:

1. Her own web site.
2. The Wikipedia page about her.
3. Stop Sylvia Browne!

I am very pleased to see that. I remember we celebrated here when my site cracked the top ten!

Also, note how few of the top pages listed are "pro-Browne". Other than her own site, are there any?

Very cool.
 
You should update more- maybe even daily- and do some link trades with bloggers.

I bet you could get the #1 position in the search. Now that would be even more awesome.

I am sure Robert would love to do that. However he does have technical issues with doing that.

Though I am sure if he spoke with someone who knows what they are talking about the issues could be solved in a short time. Might have to spend $. There may be other issues as well.

As RJ says, I am currently unable to update the site, due to both technical and health issues.

Even were those issues resolved, I seriously doubt that I would do daily updates. I don't think I could maintain the quality I would want while adding new articles at that rate. I seldom added articles at that rate even in the site's heyday.

There are many bloggers linking to the site already. I am not comfortable with Link Trades anyway. If a site/page is appropriate for my site';s Links page, I add them with no reciprocal Lnk asked for.
 
This is great news.

Occassionally I have wondered if RSL would consider turning the keys to his site over to some other enterprising skeptic, who might be better able to manage more consistent updates in light of the health issues -- or at least ask for someone else to jump in and co-run the site for the same reasons.
 
That's great your site is doing so well in ranking, Robert! Truth stands the test of time.

I have considered doing something like this Avalon, but I fear that my ego is too large to relinquish the site to someone else.

I just meant something like quick news posts, or small updates.

What are your technical problems? I'm sure there are enough bright technically minded people around here who could help you solve them.

How about a call for guest article submissions? And a web manager who would only update things with your approval?

It was your site that lead me here a while back. From the Yahoo search engine your webpage link sticks out more than Sylvia Browne's page. It's an excellent website.
 
Congratulations, it's a great site you put together about her and it belongs in the top results.

Here in the Netherlands I get your site as the 4th result, but that's because i get results for both the Dutch and English wikipedia pages. Also, the first picture in the results I see is from a still of a YT vid called '"Psychic" gets busted'.
 
Dev, they are more involved than I can go into here. I need to try (again) to resolve them with GoDaddy.com (and get a php environment installed on my computer) before trying to discuss them in any detail here, but thanks for asking.
 
Good news!

Now if only the B&N bookstores would stock a single critical book to counter the dozens of pro-Sylvia Browne books.
