Steven Seagal: WTF?

.
I recall the chaos in the theater at one of those, when he raised the -other- eyebrow when changing expression!
Women wept, strong men stood up and shook their fists at the screen, yelling "That's not Steven Seagal!"....
Utter chaos I tell you!

They just flipped the negative around for that, to elicit such an emotional reaction in the audience.

He says he was secret service.

I think aikido pretty much doesn't work well unless you have a willing demonstration partner who gives up his arm and then jumps into a throw.

Essentially true, since Aikido is designed to redirect an attacker's momentum.

Of course since Aikido is entirely defensive, in terms of movie martial arts styles, its a very stupid one. I mean, fridge logic, if you stop dead, stand there, and throw rocks at the Aikido guy, he can't exactly do much.

One thing I can state with confidence: Seagal does NOT act. I mean, seriously, have you ever endured one of his movies?

You don't watch one for the Oscar-worthy performances (I don't know what Michael Caine was thinking, if not $$$). Steven Seagal movies are there for when you're high, or want to play a drinking game. It's all about unintentional comedy.

ETA: He just doesn't realize that.

You know you're having a bad day when YouTube rejects your home-made porn video for the bad acting.

...Apparently Kelly LeBrock (his first wife) is under strict legal restrictions to not talk about their marriage at all....

AFAIK LeBrock was his third wife, after Miyako Fujitani and Adrienne La Russa.

None that I am aware of. According to the Introduction to Buddhism, by Thomas Knierim...

Is having a wife and concubines not a form of sexual misconduct for practicing Buddhists?

The precepts are mostly for ordained monks.

There are a myriad of different variations and denominations in Buddhism, ranging from the atheistic Zen and Theravada and to the polytheistic Tibetan Buddhism and the almost monotheistic Pure Land.

There is also not really any 'thou shalt nots' in Buddhism, more like 'you really shouldn'ts'.

Assuming everyone is okay with the arrangement, no.
http://www.buddhanet.net/winton_s.htm

What he allegedly did would be sexual misconduct, but just having 3 partners isn't misconduct.

Buddhanet is a Pure Land site, and their Buddhism is a little bit... well, different.

But even that article says they're stating guidelines, not commandments of any kind.

These precepts take the form of voluntary, personal undertakings. They are not commandments; there is no god in Buddhism, so none to issue any.

So you're basically kidnapped, held hostage, raped (or least least sexually assaulted) more than once, and forced to ingest drugs. You finally escape and your first phone call is to a civil lawyer and not 911? And you never call the police to file a criminal complaint?

Don't know what the real story is, but there's things that aren't being told in this story.
My question is this - After the kidnapping and the first sexual assault, why would your initial recourse to be to complain to other sexual assault victims? Why, after the second sexual assault, would your only recourse be to ask him nicely to stop?

I'm thinking we need to get a clearer idea of what exactly is meant by 'sexual assault' in this particular case, as it may help explain the less than traumatized way the assistant responded in this situation, and why there doesn't appear to be a criminal case.

That serves me right for not doing my Steven Seagal research properly.
