Steven Seagal: WTF?

This story seems like a bad script written for a standard Steven Seagal action movie, with the bad guy Seagal usually beats up in the role of ... Steven Seagal. Hard to know the truth of the matter, but it's surreal.

When she arrived, the lawsuit says, she discovered that Seagal had been keeping two young female Russian "attendants" who were essentially on-call for sex — 24-seven.

On that first night, Nguyen was ushered to a secluded house where Seagal was staying with his wife and the two young women. He then proceeded to treat Nguyen as his "sex toy" despite her complaints, the lawsuit says.

What's curious about this is that he may have recently married, as I dont' find in a quick search any info on who he is married to now ... but wait a minute, let's look at that again.

He is staying at a place with his wife, and his two Russian "sex when I need it" assistants? His wife puts up with this ... why?

The charges against him, which look like a variation of sexual assault, appear to be non-trivial.

Seagal is a practicing Buddhist. This made me think of a Tiger Woods moment, when he said he'd be looking to improve himself through his reapplication of sound Buddhist beliefs, principles ... maybe he ought to be wary of the Seagall interpretation of Buddhist practice. Maybe there is a special celebrity version of Buddhism that involves loads of booty ...

Maybe she was in on it. Maybe she put up with it for the same reason the "attendants" did.

I thought this thread was going to be about the TV series Steven Segal: Lawman which I stumbled across in HMV the other day.

Upon reading the back of the box set I certainly thought 'WTF??'

He is one weird and disturbing guy. Apparently Kelly LeBrock (his first wife) is under strict legal restrictions to not talk about their marriage at all. Ever.
I wonder if this now explains why.

Surely there has to be an autoerotic asphyxiation somewhere at the end of this story.

Curious

It was not clear why Kayden Nguyen chose to file a civil lawsuit instead of a criminal complaint. Messages left with her lawyers were not immediately returned Monday.

Ho hum...

The lawsuit alleges sexual harassment in violation of federal labor laws; illegal sex trafficking; retaliation; wrongful termination; and false representations about employment. Each of the six counts seeks in excess of $1 million in damages.

Seems like a reasonable answer to the above question, even without suggesting anything hokey about the accusations.

This is what a lawsuit filed in 2002 against Seagal by a former student claims:

* [Seagal]Required that applicants for a job as his female assistant submit their measurements and pictures, and be no more than 20 years old.

What's curious about this is that he may have recently married, as I dont' find in a quick search any info on who he is married to now ... but wait a minute, let's look at that again.

This is his fourth marriage. First to a Japanese woman, then he married a model and then another woman before he divorced the second. Now he is married to the former nanny of his and third wife's kids.

This is going to make for interesting gossip at aikido practice tonight. :D

If you're a world-famous millionaire actor and you can't require tailor-made assistant eye candy, what's the world coming to? :D

If it is part of their divorce settlement why not? Non Disclosure Agreements are common in business after all.

Well it just came across as a broad restriction, to the point of it being almost impossible not to ever talk about anything related to a relationship. Certainly, it can't in effect be that broad, can it? I'm thinking that it might've been more specific, for example details relating to their sex life perhaps. It just struck me as a bit surreal.

Thanks.

I can't find any backup of the legal restrictions on his wife. While I admit it seems legally possible, it also seems like exactly the sort of Urban Legend that plagues this site on occasion.

So you're basically kidnapped, held hostage, raped (or least least sexually assaulted) more than once, and forced to ingest drugs. You finally escape and your first phone call is to a civil lawyer and not 911? And you never call the police to file a criminal complaint?

Don't know what the real story is, but there's things that aren't being told in this story.
