It looks like JREF went through the "new changes" relatively painlessly, but I can't help but notice a column of "Sponsored Links" to the left of the forums. Okay, no problem most websites have "sponsored links" to sites that are similar.

So, linking to sites like skeptic.com, atheist.com, don'tbelievetheBS.com would be fairly expected, right? Well, take a closer look at our new "sponsored links." Homeopathic Remedies & Training, Astrology, LIVE Psychic Readings . . .

All we need are a few fundie Christian links, maybe a controversial "Christian" website like Godhatesfags.com with a few "relevant" scripture scattered about and JREF looks like any other woo site out there.

What is wrong with this picture?

The date?

I'm sorry, zakur - I'm not sure I follow you? :)

OHHHHH! Now I get it. *DOH* I sometimes forget about those quirky holidays. We even have one where we play tricks on people who don't care what the date is.

Will this little joke be relevant to International JREFers? How widespread IS the knowledge of April Fool's day, anyway?

Hmmm, I just noticed those sponsored links. Over the last while I've developed an ability to blank out "sponsored links" through frequent use of Google.

I do believe the links are truly "barking up the wong tree". The ones I see are ads for homeopathy remedies/training, astrology, and a "live" psychic reading. Are any of these services of interest the denizens that trolls these boards?

PS oh-oh, I just clued in. What is the date today?

PPS I just tried the links and got a healthy 404 error. Dang I'm slow on a Saturday morning after a night of beer guzzling.

lol. They got me! I was just about to do write an e-mail to the JREF with a rant of the highest order demanding my membership money back!

Me too, only I started a thread in the computer section.

April Fools is a holiday of the Internet. The whole Internet gets together to perform bad jokes on each other.
