While I was reading Michael Savage’s book, The Savage Nation, I came across a chapter in which he says that Japanese pornography was incredibly repulsive due to a lack of military strength, or something along the line of that. Human waste, primarily in the form of urine, was common in this disgusting form of adult entertainment. However, I did some research and found a different cause of this insane trend. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s our old enemy, pseudoscience:

Here’s a quote from the Skeptic’s dictionary:
“Some wash themselves in their own golden fluid to improve their skin quality. Many modern Japanese women are said to engage in urine bathing. The truly daring use their own urine as a…”. Well that’s enough for me in one day. If some of these women are willing to go that far with this nonsense, it’s no wonder that they’re using it during intercourse. As usual, the advocates of this quackery employ the usual claims that is common for many pseudo medicines: “It can cure anything! Big pharma wants to keep you sick!” etc.
What’s disappointing to me is that a man like Dr. Savage is not using his intellect to expose this pseudoscience. Instead, he’s just providing non-sequiturs for his audience and fooder for his opponents. I’ve stopped listening to him when I heard that he interviewed a psychic, and believed the psychic's vague account of some story about a guy being beaten by his wife. As far as I can remember, there were no names, no locations nor a time frame was provided by this psychic, and not a peep of criticism from the doctor, which is almost like the way that Larry King interviews promoters of the paranormal. King gives a huge handicap to pseudoscience promoters but reserves tough questions for political or financial V.I.Ps.
