It just hit me that with the raid to get Osama revealing the existence of a stealth transport helicopter those that fear things like the "Black Helicopters" must be going bonkers.

Has anyone seen any evidence of this? A stealth helicopter, in active service, that can deliver assassins (or your generic Men In Black) surely must have those kind of people defecating themselves.

And, for those that follow such things, what do we know about the helicopter? Does it have an official designation that anyone knows about? A bad ass name (I assume it will follow tradition and be a native tribe name)?

I think it is just a modified Blackhawk. If they reveal a designation, it might be something as boring as U-2 (for utility) was back in 1955.

Yep, and it wasn't exactly "silent" as someone was tweeting about the choppers coming in.

I think by "stealth" they mean reduced signature, whether that be sound or radar or both.

In other words, still a far cry from the silent black choppers of recent lore.

It was probably a variant of the U/MH-60 Black/Pave Hawk operated by the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne).

Depends. Did they go bonkers in the 70s? Or the last couple of decades? Because it's not the first time stealth helicopters have been seen or used. Sure, both of those examples are claimed not to be in active use, but when has such a claim mattered to believers in black helicopters? Obviously the government is just lying about it and has taken them all for itself. So really, given that there's already plenty of real evidence that such things exist, I wouldn't have thought showing yet another one would make them go any more bonkers than they already were.

Does Black Hawk count as badass or a native tribe? Because that's what they're called. As a guess, it's official designation is probably something like UH-60S. Or possibly UH-60X. Because it wouldn't be cool without an X in there somewhere.
