So when does Paul drop out?

At one debate he was asked by the moderator more or less why he was even running. Doesn't seem like a very fair question if the point of a debate is for the candidates to actually debate and get their message out instead of being mocked by some smug neo-con shill. I think this was after he had been beating Thompson and Giuliani in most states. And the candidates would laugh at Paul's ideas and then talk about how great Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan were. It's like...do they even know where Paul is coming from? Isn't there a reason why Barry Goldwater Jr. endorsed Paul? They should at least know that if Barry Goldwater were still around he would punch them in the face for bringing up his name. Reagan, that guy would bodyslam the hell out of Huckabee.

The only thing I saw potentially objectionable in that was the leading question. I have one question, then:

While it _was_ a leading question, the truth of the above statement is significant.

If true, then combined with Paul's own statement: "We have no need for our national security to have troops on the Arabian peninsula", the question was not inappropriate; he _would_ have us accede to al-Qaeda's demands.

(Immediately prior to the above statement, Paul himself says "they want us off the Arabian peninsula", but his "they" is a vague antecedent.)

Also, uh, Paul comes off as an isolationist nutter to me here, by the way.

Why is that an invalid question given the results of those first two primaries? (Also, the original questioner went on to better support exactly why he was asking the question; cherry-picking the three-word preface from this video is slightly dishonest.)

The questions Ron Paul is asked are completely different from those asked of the other candidates.

Ron Paul doesn't get asked about policy as much as he gets asked about the viability of his campaign.

They never did the same to Huckabee when he was polling at 5%. They never questioned Giuliani on performing worse than Ron Paul.

These are all loaded questions, and the hidden assumptions are that Ron Paul didn't belong on stage with the rest of the candidates.

If they had asked the other candidates the same questions, then I'd agree with you. If they had asked Ron Paul more questions about policy, I'd agree with you.

The rest of the candidates were not mocked on stage by the moderators. You can verify this information.

Are you unable to interpret facial expressions? Could you not hear the laughing in the background by the other candidates?

Yeah...he wasn't being mocked. It was a serious question.

You do understand what it means to be mocked, right?
