So is this possible

It's possible if aliens attack and destroy most of the world, and then Trump makes an inspirational speech and then pilots one of the last remaining fighter planes helping to accomplish the miraculous destruction of the entire alien fleet.

Hopefully it'll be a suicide run.

I know you're joking but, er... even if some of the similar claims by QAnals about this sort of stuff were true, it still wouldn't help them. Laws have to be recognised and acted upon to be real laws.

It's like Sovcits' yapping about the articles of Confederation as if they hadn't been superceded by the Constitution and subsequently ignored by every law agency and court in the country for 250 years.

I can see a dissenter under a dictatorship taking the stand at his show trial and denouncing the court and the government for being illegitimate. Even though he knows the bailiff will club him down before he finishes. Even though he knows his outburst will be suppressed and memory-holed. Even though he knows it will change nothing about the trial or his sentencing. It's just a futile, last-ditch effort to speak truth to power before the inevitable happens. Something a character in a Terry Gilliam dystopia would do.

What baffles me about the SovCits is their apparent conviction that telling the illegitimate court that they're illegitimate will actually prompt the court to desist. You're in the grips of the regime, man. Whose laws do you really think are going to prevail here? The laws that suit you? Or the laws that suit them?

What baffles me about the SovCits [...]

Bit of a tangent here, but the term SovCit always makes me thing of the SovCities in Judge Dredd, last remnant in that particular future of the Soviet Union. There's rather a bizarre contrast between these people who portray themselves as the freeest of the free, and the most dystopian extreme of an already dystopian future, that doesn't exactly give me any more sympathy for them.

Won't all foot soldiers be out on bail if not already in jail?
Seems unlikely an 'honest' attempt through the system and another insurrection certainly will be expected. Even if there are no outward signs to most of us.

Nobody is taking any chances a second time.

Possible only in the sense that anything is possible.

Functionally zero actual people think this could realistically happen. Maybe like two or three nut jobs with no sense of how the planet works.

Bloody ninja‘d by a tangent. I feel so worthless now.

I must say, though, that the term SovCit reminds me of the same thing, as a former avid 2000AD fan.

Something like one-third of Republicans might believe this nonsense.

I'm inclined to think they are just carried away with the rhetoric, and if you sat them down and asked them about it calmly, they would acknowledge that they are fountains of horse ****.

I believe this because if they are genuinely that stupid, they would already be dead, from like trying to cross the street or something.

How many of you think Trump will be reinstated before the end of this month.

Today was the day this was supposed to happen, according to a good many right-wing/Q/Mike the Pillowmonger related memes.

Ain't gonna happen. Not today, not not this week or this month or this year. Not unless or until Trump runs for President in 2024.

My guess is that many of the CT believers will just shift focus to other Conspiracy mongers. They'll quietly shift away from Q/CodeMonkeyZ/Ron Watkins and Mike (Pillow Guy) Liddel and move on to other people spouting other made up dates with more excuses as those don't pan out either.

Not within the month, nor within this year. But within twelve months? Possible.

Although not the "reinstated" part. Because he might just become president of some Qanon-type club in jail or something? There'll be obliging rubes inside jail, just like there are obliging rubes on the outside, who might let him. And narcissist that he is, he'd love to call himself President again, no matter what kind. So, it's possible, what you propose, except over a somewhat more extended time frame.

That's not very likely, though. It's more likely he'll get vaporized by the first blast from the ship over Mar-A-Lago because he won't evacuate because he'll insist the aliens are less dangerous than Mike Pence or the swimming pool contractor he owes money to.

If powerful, hostile aliens showed up, Trump would be the first to offer himself up as their lackey, and give up anyone he knows to seal the deal. He’d offer them his own children in a heartbeat.

They are genuinely that stupid. Some of them are dying right now in hospitals, as they beg for the vaccines they swore never to use.

What definition of the word "possible" is being used here?

More to the point: why?

I mean, our performative buffoon is bad enough, but he is a mere tribute act compared to the Orange Sexual Abuser and Tax Avoider.

Yeah, but the aliens wouldn't bother listening to him.

"We will build a space wall. And the aliens will pay for it."

(Quote from President Luthor on the short-lived DC sitcom "Powerless")

I think a more interesting question is, "how many months into the future will people keep asking if it's possible Trump will be reinstated by the end of the month?".

Two millennia from now, will there be people preaching about the imminent second coming of Trump? And if so, will they be called Melanialists?
