So a bear walks into a fast food restaurant...

No, really, a bear literally walked into a fast food restaurant in Kitimat, B.C.

They shot the bear? How incredibly stupid of them. There was no cause to shoot that bear. I mean, holy crap, did they bother to review the footage before going off on the hunt? The bear didn't scent mark, didn't eat anything, and seemed more cautious than anything else-- simply scaring the thing away if it came back would likely drive it off for good.

Are people really that scared of black bears? Crap, two of my three dogs are each larger than that bear was.

As a side note, it's worth pointing out that even a wild animal couldn't find anything good to eat at the fast food joint. No surprise there.

This actually happened a couple of weeks ago. They did the right thing shooting this bear, and I love bears, but relocating bears doesn't work. Especially to those habituated to human food.
