I'd be up for that. And yeah, the reception last year was ridiculous. (I bet they got the message on the band and shoosh thing.) But still, it wasn't what it used to be with so many people there. (I suppose that's the good news and the bad news from a TAM attendee perspective.)

One conflict for those of us volunteering is that time might also be the time slot for the volunteer dinner, if there is one. Dunno...

I would be up for this, although I will skip the champagne part.

Oh wait. Is this proposal just for the ladies? And you do know that some of us skepguys are no spring chickens...
 
As long as you don't make me behave like a lady with a capital "L", then I'm all for the guys joining us too!

With recent events, any gathering of women at TAM 9 will be very interesting. As one of the older ladies who has been there and done that, all I could do is roll my eyes and note that nothing has changed in thirty years.
 
OK, I will make an unofficial executive decision and declare Thursday evening, from 6:30 until we feel like meandering over to the reception, to be the inaugral Skeptical Women of a Certain Age Champagne and Hopefully Strawberries Event (hopefully in that I hope to get strawberries to mom prior to this). This event will be held in the Silverado Bar area and the definitions of "Women" and "Certain Age" are flexible. The definition of "Champagne" is not. This should give people time to get some food in them, unless they wish to consider champagne and strawberries to be food.

If we find the company and champagne delightful, we can return for more after the reception.
