Based on what Alex Jones says about the government, they're far more competent than God! If they can carry off these massive conspiracies, surely they can use their weather control technology to take out the guy who's onto them without fail.

God can be easily thwarted. . .even by iron chariots, for example.

I think not knowing the sqrt of mierda is implied when someone says that they "have a question". I can see where L.Y.S. might of missed the answer since it is awful hard to hear from all the way up on your high horse.

I had hoped my message was clear: Oklahoma had some windbag politicians who refused to help others but now need help themselves which they will get because the rest of us are better people than them.

Geometry won't save you from tornado at EF5 if it touches down. Yesterday and today there were funnel clouds in Duval County, and near Falfurias. Why are the houses still standing? The funnel clouds didn't touch down. There were tornadoes in Victoria, Texas, today.

Well, they get more than their share of tornadoes, and they had some fires a few years back but the biggest problem is that massive sinkhole at Norman. Oh, wait, that's not a sinkhole..... It's the Sooner football program sucking for the past decade.

Yes Federal Disaster Relief funds should absolutely be made available to the communities effected by the recent hurricanes.

I do hope this event forces some moments of reflection upon the Oklahomanians that voted for the Representatives that refused and/or were resistant to allocating funds for Sandy, but I don't think it's anything we should force.
 
One can hope that federal relief to Oklahoma won't be pork laden like the Sandy relief bill. Many politicians took advantage of the disaster to bloat the bill with spending for their own personal projects, based on the (correct) assumption that anyone daring to object would be castigated for heartlessness. I haven't seen any indication (yet) that disaster relief in Oklahoma has turned into a grab bag of goodies for Washington politicians and their cronies, but I won't be surprised when it does.
 
Putting aside the immediate need in OK for the moment, I think it is safe to say that billion+ disasters are inevitable and will come with increasing frequency. Thus, I'd like to see congress prepare FEMA with disaster relief mechanisms before the next big hit rather than dealing with them on an after-the-fact basis.

As pointed out already in the main thread that is not true. I'm not sure where that meme is coming from because it keeps popping up.

You can build shelters that can withstand much more than that actually. They are fairly expensive though, especially considering you can't really use them for anything else besides a shelter.

I pointed out elsewhere that you can use the earth-covered ones for bleacher supports for sports fields. And in Oklahoma you could used them for tourist attractions. :p

What on earth is wrong with these people? By his logic, why even have disaster relief handled at the state level? Why not require each town to pay for its own storm damage? Or each neighborhood? Does he understand what it means to live in a civilized society?
 
Remember that for such people the ideal "society" is to live alone on a big ranch that you guard with all your precious, precious guns. Oh and you breed with your daughters and leave the little boys out for the Others to eat as sacrifice.

Eastern Seaboard - Hurricanes
Western Seaboard - Earthquakes
There's a supervolcano on the middle somewhere*


So, no rebuilding of any kind whatsoever because, ultimately, it's pointless.
