Weird thread is weird.
Exactly, considering it is the Republicans who are changing the rules and setting up the system to make it very hard for non-Republicans to win an election.
Weird thread is weird.
Sanders was a fiscal conservative, he ran. Hillary is a Regan fiscal conservative, she ran. What the hell does the question even mean?
The question seems to spring from unearned victimhood. "We control both the legislative and executive branches, but people are so mean to us. Won't somebody think of the old white men?"
To start/continue a fight with a blatantly dishonest premise, namely the implication that liberals/progressives would want to make it legally impossible for conservatives to hold public office.
The inherent dishonesty is highlighted in the OP with the lie that this isn't a political question.
Good point. It's a transparent attempt at showing Democrats/liberals as the *real* fascists who will use the law and/or force to steamroll over the poor, helpless, innocent Republicans/conservatives while the opposite is shown in reality time and time again.

Following from this thread
It seems that many in the GOP in positions of power are happy with attempts to make it harder for groups likely to support the democrats to vote.
Is this a good thing?
Did the BrooklynBaby just blurt out the excuse that "we can't be Fascists and Nazis because those ended in the 1940s"? That is a very common excuse from contemporary Nazis and not persuasive at all. The only thing it indicates is the political leanings of the person who uttered the excuse.
Sure. "Neo-Nazi" is a lot closer, though "fascist" is almost a perfect fit.No, the Baby blurted out that calling people "Nazis", who everyone knows were a group of monsters who killed millions and tried to murder every Jew on the planet, while using the silly rationalization that the meaning of the word has changed over time -- feel free to try to prove that -- is stupefying in its dumbness. What calling me and people like me "Nazis" would be something called a "big, big lie", based on nothing.

Let's see your proof that I am a fascist or even a "neo-nazi", whatever that is? What you'll need is a neo-lie.
It is just that you support a party that has increasingly fascist tendencies, including trying to stifle the freedom of the press, stoke xenophobia, ignore the rule of law when it applies to past and future actions of the party leader, happy with interference in the electoral process and interference in the investigation into that, and has the endorsement of prominent Klansmen
And that's just what I can think of in the two minutes it took me to type that
This is just a bunch of hot air, and you can't prove any of it without using a whole bunch of logical fallacies. You're supposed to provide proof regarding ME, not a bunch of other nonsense involving talking points based on nothing. If you can't do that, then you owe me and the rest of the 63 million people who voted for Trump an apology, at minimum.
Bwahahaha! "What's a neo-Nazi?"Let's see your proof that I am a fascist or even a "neo-nazi", whatever that is? What you'll need is a neo-lie.
Conservatives, yes. Republicans, no.
ETA: After re-reading the questions, yes, Republicans should be allowed to serve.
What about liberal Republicans?
What's that?
Again, wrong question. Politicians of any stripe should first pass an exam proving they know what the **** they are doing in politics in the first place. Like lawyers have to pass the bar, drivers pass driving tests, and doctors graduate. Aspiring politicians need to publicly prove they know the structure and history of their legislature, how it works including day-to-day procedures, and the responsibilities and limitations they must abide by. Fail that exam and they get to rail at the opposition while standing with the rest of us plebs outside the state or federal house of representation, not in it pretending they know all about it when clearly they don't.

Bwahahaha! "What's a neo-Nazi?"
It's like holding a mirror up to a vampire to prove that they have a face. It's completely obvious to everyone else, but for some reason, they just can't see it...
Lugenpresse - Lying press. Lebensraum - America First. Lebensborn - Stop immigrants. Geheime Staatspolizei - First Amendment is TREASON!!!.Do Neo-Nazis plan to create a "master race", invade Poland and Russia with a 3 million troops, and kill and cook Jews in ovens? Do they need "living space"? Do they have a leader named Hitler? Do they plan to rule for a thousand years? Are they doing medical experiments on live and awake people? Etc., Etc.?
