Sex charges for female former high school teacher

It's also very hard to cast said teacher as a "victimizer" just as is it's very hard to cast "the kid" as a victim, yet just parodying the dogmatic absolutists who refuse to accept these kind of subtleties manages to rile people up.

Exactly. Most SJWs you find online are absolutists, just as the Alt-Right are, but I have encountered cases offline of people claiming that since 'males have all the power' consensual sex is impossible.

Mmm. Maybe. I can't help but think there's an element of "See? See? Women can be sexual assaulters too!" Hashtag something.

That certainly seemed to be the OP's take on it. The idea that SJW's think women cannot be sexual predators IS a very popular "manosphere" strawman; they absolutely love pointing out to themselves how wrong it is.

I know defending sex with minors is kind of your thing, but come on...
A teacher that allows him/herself to be 'seduced' by a teenage pupil deserves what they get*. Even if the kid in question is some kind of super mature evil genius, it's very hard to cast the teacher as the victim in a case like that.

*Even disregarding the age angle, any teacher trading sex for grades deserves to get fired.

Uh oh... you've been cained

Yes in reality the "lesser power" party can seduce the one in ostensible authority. We just streamline the whole thing to make reality nice and legally neat.

Why bring up SJWs?

It's serious misconduct at the least. Charge the teacher.

I think if they hadn't, pretty much everyone would have assumed it was a man, maybe it's not important if it was a man or not but it probably does lend some accuracy to the story.

On other comments in this thread. even if the students initiated the inappropriate relationship, the onus is and should always be on the adult and/or person in power to enforce appropriate boundaries.

It could be like stories about American shooters. "Oh, a guy shot up a school? Again? Must be thursday." "Oh, a guy sexually assaulted some students? Tuesday." But a woman??? That's newsworthy.

I guess.

Mentioning the sex of the teacher in the headline is to get eyes on the story, nothing more.

I see such headlines every day - they either leave out certain info or include it depending on how likely they feel people are to read it.

It's interesting how people still bristle at the idea that the media doesn't have our best interests in mind.

Just happened here, the district next to the one I went to. I don't know how they think they won't get caught. Besides any other factors, they're pretty dumb.

I am going to say I fully agree with the accuser in this case:

"We need to hold female perpetrators to the same standards as males," he said. "No man or woman should have to endure sexual abuse at any age.

The problem is we don't, this is the problem I have with the Social Justice movement, they tend to hold that only one racial/gender combination is capable of such behavior.

"... encountered cases offline of people claiming ..." is rather weak sauce, not least because you can easily find someone online claiming just about anything you might feel like looking for.

If you are trying to defend a point you'll need to find more convincing evidence than that.

Seems odd that you would make that blanket claim, right after quoting the second of two examples in this thread alone where they actually did.

I dont think sjw are a "movement" so much as individual people who garner their self esteem from defending those they see as oppressed. But I agree a rapist is a rapist regardless of gender.

He said that "A teacher that allows him/herself to be 'seduced' by a teenage pupil deserves what they get". This statement is pure value signaling, presumably made because they felt a need to make sure people know where they stand.

However it also implies that, since it's very possible to "to be 'seduced' by a teenage pupil" without being publicly exposed, and since the potential negative consequences one might face (depending on where this occurred) mostly depend on it becoming public, that one literally "deserves" to get away with it scot free if one does get away with it.

Congratulations. You have taken an extremely common idiom and turned it into one of the most desperate strawman attempts I've ever witnessed.
