Seth MacFarlane Donates Sagan's Papers

I have the DVD set of Cosmos; it has aged kind of badly. Kids can't get into it because it is so obviously old.

They can do a new Cosmos, updated information, better graphics, great idea! Just wish Carl could be part of it!

Who owned them? That's what the article never mentions.

It doesn't say explicitly but I'd guess it was from Sagan's widow.

ETA: It was from Ann Druyan, Sagan's widow.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson introduced MacFarlane to Druyan when Tyson and Druyan were developing a remake of the enormously popular 1980 PBS series “Cosmos” that made Sagan famous. In the process of backing the new “Cosmos,” MacFarlane provided an undisclosed sum of money to the Library of Congress to buy the archive from Druyan. The library will officially announce the acquisition Wednesday.
