O god, I dipped in and jumped out again double quick. The temptation to call him an imbecile was of course enormous, but the thought of being invited to debate the fact that people don't fake a plane crash based on a real plane crash in order to claim that the real plane crash was fake, well that was just too much for me.

My brain was screaming about billions of brain cells jumping off a cliff (or being hit by a crashing fake/real/fake plane) as my fingers hovered over the keyboard.

There now brain cells, you're safe, calm down.

Muzungu100 - that must be September's winner surely. I honestly can't find the words for just how dumb the thread is.

After reading the thread, his logic is actually sound. The premises are brain-hurtingly stupid, but the logic actually isn't.

P1: Real-life crashes can't be faked.
P2: What was shown on TV could be faked.
IF what was shown on TV was real, then as per P1 it could not have been faked.
THEREFORE it must have been fake to start with.

Flawed premise, flawed conclusion.
 
In defense of universal consciousness or something.

I admit that in detail there were three scenarios posted, bill's education and lefty referred to armed insurrection AFTER a courtroom battle. If you count the court action then that's three but Fonebone reasserts that Jeffereson was speaking to something other than armed insurrection, using a quote that commonly means taking up arms against tyrants.

I was thinking that maybe Jefferson was talking about trying to grow a new type of vampiric tree that would coincidentally be named Liberty.
 
I had a friend who was an assistant in a doctor's office back before AIDS and the spread of Hep B and C. The doc she worked for took the disposed-of blood samples home to fertilize his rose bushes. My friend said he grew prize-winning roses.
